Returning a toy to a park

I'm not sure where to post this so I'll start here.

My DS5 purchased a toy in March of this year from the Buzz Lightyear stand in front of the ride in MK. The toy has since broken & he wants another one. Has anyone ever tried to return a broken item to a store at a park? I don't think I could ever find the receipt since I'm pretty sure we paid cash so I wondered if they would take it back. BTW, it was one of the Buzz "arms" that reaches out when a button is pushed & can pick up an object.

DD buys charms for a bracelet every trip. She bought some in May, and when we went in Sept she was wearing the bracelet and two of them came off in her hand.

Took them to the WL gift shop and they were exchanged immediately. I didn't have to fill out any return form, and I certainly didn't have the receipt.

I also had a similar experience. I bought my daughter a light up toy. The next day, she dropped it while waiting for the Peter Pan ride. It no longer lit up. A cast member saw and told me to that I can exchange it for another one. I didn't have the receipt, it was in the hotel room. For $14, those little light up toys should be able to withstand one fall. Anyway, Kudos to them, they were wonderful about exchanging it!

My husband bought a stupid light up toy at Epcot (the one with the string that twirls around) and it wasn't five minutes before it broke. He took it back, got another one and this one lasted 15 minutes. He took it back to another place and got another one (it waited until we got home to break). Both times they took it back with no problems and it wasn't the same place where he had bought it. Good luck (and don't buy the string toy!).

Hey I have the blacklight string toy...too bad we don't use it...:rotfl: Maybe I should give it to the kids and let them break it, at least then I will get the shelf space back...:rotfl:

Thanks for the replies...It will be strange taking a toy INTO the park but I will gladly do so if it will save me from buying another one!
