Return Time Ticket logistics

There has been some speculation on how the system will work, and certainly some apprehension towards the idea. Some expect that the Return Time Tickets get you a straight, no-wait experience, but I think there will still be a 5-10 minute line just to ensure that there is never a time when the ride-ops are waiting with no guests because 5 groups forgot their return time. I can understand where people would think that the system could lower the riders-per-hour of rides, but I think that is something Universal has worked on.

Some are believing that each slot (10:30, 10:35, 10:40, etc) are assigned to one group, but I think they are likely to be filled with X amount of guests per slot.
Meaning:

(Ride's riders per hour / 60) x 5 minutes = X riders per slot

What's everyone else's opinions of how the system will work?

My guess it will be that if you reserve a slot, you will get to go through the Express Pass line, and whatever (shorter) wait that would entail.

I'm almost certain too they would limit the number of reservations they allow per "slot". Most likely in the same manner that Disney does their FP+'s.

Interesting thank you for posting.

Appears they are trying to balance the crowd, despicable me can really back up, even in the EP line.

those who pay for EP/stay onsite may not be thrilled if they expand it to be 'too' inclusive IMO if it would apply to non-EP attractions (Gringotts, etc.).

So far it looks like they're just testing it out with Shrek, and it hasn't been until today that I've seen in the app that you can actually pick a return time for it.

Will be interesting to see how it pans out. If they properly limit the number of people they allow per given time slot, I can be a huge bonus for those without EP without impacting too much the people who do have EP.

Starting at 19:31.

Found some good speculation on how the lines may work, and what about them may not work so well.
