Return of the castaway club blue sling backpack?

We have quite a collection of sling bags from our past cruises, and among all the CC gifts, the sling bag is the one we use the most—especially on cruises. It's the perfect size for use around the ship and on shore excursions.

The luggage tags were not very useful. The soft-side cooler, which was the previous Platinum gift, is nice but we don't use it often.

The towel and the "wet" bag make great gifts for friends and family. The new tote bag would be much more practical if the handles were a bit longer, making it easier to slip over your shoulder.

We usually pack two sling bags for each cruise. They are also handy for storing items like wall magnets, chair clips, and other cruise-specific items between cruises, so they're always ready for the next adventure!

Could the sling bag be the least expensive option for DCL?

The cheapest option would be to give nothing. Other lines (at least Royal and Celebrity) don't give any gifts until the higher levels. And even then it's mostly things like percentages off wifi and beverage packages.

Seems others on your sailing received the blue sling bag. They were lower castaway level.

Crazy that DCL is giving the old sling bag to silver and gold castaway members. According to the FB post.

I asked at guest services on the Dream and they said they expect to be giving out the sling bag until June. He didn't say what they were doing in June

On magic right now. Yesterday we got the full Pearl gift set with a towel the white bag and the tumblers we also got the sling bag another towel and the luggage tags. Crazy

Boarded the EBTA today. Got the sling bag, luggage tags, and the new style towel as the gifts for platinum.

I’m annoyed because I didn’t pack a wet/dry bag as assumed I’d be getting one!

Lanyard wise, platinum got the new Mickey shape (albeit a blue one) and gold got the old style with the clear pouch.

I agree those luggage tags are throw away. They fall right off.

I got on the Dream yesterday (5/5/25) and it was the sling bag.

I was not disappointed because I knew what to expect and one of my daughters was excited to get one. But, I have to say, that it makes no sense with the wet/dry bag and looks kind of discombobulated. The wet/dry bag is too big for the sling backpack. LOL

On the Magic now. We're both Platinum and got the sling bag (1x), round luggage tag (1x), new style beach towel (1x), and old style black lanyards with clear card sleeves (2x).

From what I can tell, Gold/Silver also got the old style lanyards as I've seen way more old style than new ones (like 20:1). We have seen Pearl lanyards but not sure if they brought them or were given them this cruise.
