My grandfather was retired from the military. He passed away almost ten years ago. My question is can my grandmother get the military discount? She gets retirement from the military and her insurance is through them. She also has an active id. She just had to go get a new one last month. If anyone knows, let me know! Thanks!

If your grandmother has an active ID then she can get military discounts For Disney at shades of green and the MWR on the closet Post to her.

As long as she has a DD Form 1173 that in the relationship field states either "Spouse" or Unremarried Widow" she can, as far as Disney is concerned, take advantage of any of the programs for the military, suchg as the Armed Forces Salute tickets.

Yes, as a surviving widow, she is entitled to the same benefits as she was when your gradfather was alive.

Are you asking specifically about the WDW room discounts offered to military? If so, she must be with you if you are planning to use her benefits. As others have said, all she needs is the military ID.

I was mainly asking about the tickets. I understand that she'd have to be with us. She's never been and would like to see my kids-her great grandkids. We're not sure if we're going to or not though. Oh, and she is an unremarried widow. Thanks for the help!
