Rethinking our last night's ADR...

Our last night at WDW is going to be March 28th and currently I have reservations for The Coral Reef. Apart from the fact that I've heard more and more bad reviews my husband and I have decided we'd rather spend our last night in the MK and see the light parade and Wishes. We're already having the dinner buffet at the Crystal Palace on the first night so what other options do we have that will get us back to MK for the parade and fireworks and not already be booked solid? We will have a car we can drive if necessary.

On our first trip DH and I had ressies in Epcot for our last Saturday night and that turned out to be the night of Spectro and Wishes so we scrapped our ADR and got a last minute dinner ressie at the Plaza. We loved it for what it was - a quick dinner before the parade and fireworks waiting began. Its just sandwiches and such but they are really good

Actually Me and DW really like the New York Strip at Coral Reef, had that the last 3 years and other then Le Cellier this place will always be on our list to make ADR's for first.
We have been driving to the parks the last 3 trips, we get the AAA parking pass and get pretty close to the main gate, well that is with Epcot real close , Animal Kingdom and HS pretty good spot, but the MK you have to park at the transportation center and take either the boat (which seems to take forever) or the momo-rail, the MK is actually faster to get to we think with the resort bus because it takes you close to the main gate and you walk over.
An alternative is maybe drive to Poly get an ADR for Kona Cafe or O'hanna for Dinner, after dinner take the momo over to the MK to see the the Parade and fireworks then mono- back to Poly for your car, this way no wait for the crowds at the bus after the fireworks. We have done this.
But someday I would give the Coral Reef a try.

Maybe Chef Mickey's or the Wave over at the Contemporary? If you don't want to actually leave the park, I would definitely recommend the Plaza. Although it's not a fancy place, we have never had a bad experience there and their ice cream desserts are to die for! Plus, it's right at the end of Main Street - which puts you in the perfect location for just walking right out the door to see Wishes and/or Spectro!

How about The Wave at the Contemporary? Try one of the other monorail restaurants if that's not one you like or can't get an ADR.

Another vote for The Plaza at the MK. It is a nice change of pace from all of the other heavy meals you eat on the trip and they have great desserts.

We like O'Hana for our last night, but not sure if ADRs would still be available. Maybe b/c its a big place.

We ate at the Coral Reef last month and I loved my sauteed grouper with scallop risotto...DH wasnt too keen on his NY Strip though...the caesar salad and the butterscotch creme brulee...wow they were awesome.

I would go to the Plaza for burgers and sundaes!

I'd have to say Kona. Sticky wings and a Lapu Lapu - then just hop on the mono to MK. Perfect ending to a trip IMHO. And its usually pretty easy to get a last minute ADR.

Or if you want to stay in the park, I'd have to agree that the Plaza is yummy for sandwiches and milkshakes.

Another vote here for Plaza - we also really enjoy Tony's, but have found it easier to get an ADR at the Plaza.

Thanks for all the suggestions! My kids have never been to WDW and we're staying at Pop so it might be a good chance to get in a monorail ride. I think I'm leaning towards trying to get an early res at one of the Poly places and getting an OOP meal at The Plaza because those deserts look awesome.

ADR's are such complicated planning but so much fun!

Well as far as Coral Reef goes we had a great meal there and would definately go back again. To eat in the MK you have Tony's which is realy good or LTT which is also good .
So do you want to eat Italian or do you want a mini Thanksgiving meal ?
