Right now I have a cat. 6 booked for June 26, 2004 for me, DH, and DSs 14 and 1 week shy of 13 at time of sailing. We have stayed in a cat. 6 for our 3 and 4 night cruise and loved it. I am now wondering how it is going to be with all 4 of us in one room for the whole week! We could change to 2 cat. 10 rooms for about the same price, though I also don't know what it would be like to go a whole week without a window, and I think I would really miss the verandah. 1 week in 1 small room seems awfully cramped. How do other families of 4 (particulary of kids about that age) manage throughout the week? Would you keep the cat. 6 or switch to two cat. 10s? Thanks for any advice you can give!

We have three teenagers and have gotten the Cat 4 a few times (5 in a room). More recently we go with two Cat 9's since my son is now 6'1" and my girls just bring too much stuff!!!

But four in a room is very doable...don't worry. If I were you I would keep the room you have. All of you won't be in the room together all of the time, probably just for getting ready for dinner and sleeping. I know I never see my teens when we are onboard. I, personally, prefer a window. If it was a huge savings I would say go for it...but it comes out about the same keep what you have. If you cannot get connectors, do you want your two sons to have their own room or would you and your hubby split up one in each room?

I have also cruised with 4 adults in one room and had no problem. We just space out the showers accordingly.

I'll admit, I have NO similarity with childeren (2 DD's 12 & 8), but my bet would be that since they're both boys, it's not as big of a problem. You as the mom will be the one who will be most inconvenienced". The shoe is on the other foot in our house, and DH is surrounded by females (even the cat)! That was the big seller to him with DVC, that he can have some private space as they get more mature. Natt

Hey There - we did four in our room last Nov. and we felt fine. My kids are 4 and 7 and each packed a bag of toys. We still were able to see the floor most of the week!!! ;)

We're doing it this June with 4 and the teenagers are a boy and girl. I'm not worried about sharing the physical space rather the "privacy" concerns. At the moment I keep thinking THANK YOU DCL for being so brilliant as to have the split bathrooms!

I would suggest that you first try to get two SPRs. They are priced as cat 10, but they have windows. If they are not available, then you can pay a couple hundred more to get a cat 9 (with window) for you and your husband and a cat 10 across the hall for your boys on deck 2.

Keep the verandah! There is plenty of room for four! I just loved sitting out there in the evening listening to the sound of the ocean, or in the morning after room service delivered my coffee before everyone else got up. Have fun!!
