Resume advice

As someone who reviews and hires, the resume gets you to the interview stage. I know what I'm looking for and tend to skim each job listed on the resume. If they have the skill set I'm looking for they're a possible candidate. Very few jobs these days have someone coming directly out of school prepared to work. (Obviously there are exceptions but I'm trying to keep this short). I want to know you are trainable and will be able to understand the job quickly without a lot of wasted time teaching basics.
The hardest part these days is getting your resume past the online screening.
EDIT:
One additional comment. If you are looking for a job don't discount any avenue. As an example, I was looking to hire someone. There was a person on here who stated several times they were actively looking for a job. I tried to contact them through a PM on here twice with no response. Why did I do it? The job I was looking to fill was a help desk agent. I liked this individual's responses on these boards. They were well thought out and articulate. They lived in Florida. I also live in Florida. The job is 100% web based with the contract location in the Washington DC area, therefore, DC wages in Florida which is pretty good. If you're smart, I can teach you to do what we do. I would offer no promises to this person except a guaranteed interview, but that's half the battle, getting your foot in the door.
