Are reservations at Universal a MUST!! or can we play it by ear?

We have been staying at Universal the last 5 years, usually July, and never make reservations, although there is a Booth at Citywalk where you can make reservations on the day if you want

Same here, we have never made reservations. This year since we will be there during the opening week of WWOHP I went ahead and made a couple for those nights were my entire family will be there, but other than that we will still just play it by ear and make reservations at the booth in the morning or just walk in.
