Resturant Merrakesh

I guess it really just depends on what part of the "States" you're from. I really didn't find the spices to be anything out of the ordinary. I also didn't think it was particularly "adventurous." Meat and veggies basically. Coucous is something I will find on my dinner table any night of the week so I guess I just don't see the so called exotic nature of this place.

We love it. However, it is not for everyone. It is very authentic middle eastern food and their spices etc. are not what some like or are used to eating here in the States.

If you like Greek food etc., you will probably love it and like another poster said, the mint tea is fabulous. It is one of those places you will either love or hate depending on your palette.

Soups are great, kabobs are great too. It is DEF not the place to go if you like plain old meat and potatoes. It is a wonderful place to go if you like live entertainment and have an adventurous palette.

If you like places like Boma, you will like Marrakesh....

Beautiful in here

Yes, very true. Cambridge MA, for example, has some really good, truly authentic, Moroccan restaurants.

For us, it was a "once and done" kind of place. Last year, we had a reservation at Yak & Yeti CS at 5:00, but we realized that afternoon that there would be no way we would have been hungry at 5, so I called the Dining Line for a replacement. Marrakesh was one of the options, so we chose it. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. We were seated right by the "belly dance floor" so we had a birds eye view of the entertainment. We enjoyed the entertainment and the food was just okay. The service was awful. If our service had been better, I might not have written it off as a future visit. I just think there's better food at Disney (at least for us).

Didn't care for it at all. No problems with the food, though it wasn't to my taste (the wife liked it). We had a late reservation (8:15?), and didn't get out until almost 10. The service was *terrible*. We're a family of 4 with two small children; there's no way we should've been there that long. We were ignored when we came in (as someone else said), and it felt like everything took forever.

I really don't like waiting around at restaurants. We usually tell the waiters what we all want when they come over for the drink order. I'm the type of person who gets the checks, tells the waiter to wait, looks it over, and gives my credit card. This place drove me nuts.

We were told by the CMs that we caught the last monorail (we were at WL, so it was monorail to MK, and boat to WL).

Marrakesh offers good food, and yes, like all of the Epcot restaurants, it's the Americanized version, but the ambiance, the decor, the belly dancer etc. add a great deal to the dining experience there. It's definitevely worth a try!

For great, authentic food of anykind, you have to go outside of Disney and find it!

The food was decent. The entertainment was good. The service was terrible. We saw our server when he took our order (and he looked and acted bored) and when he brought our check. We had to ask other servers for drink refills and even when we were ready for desert.

Definitely depends on your tastes...

We went there May 2010 b/c I had heard quite a few great reviews about it...and we are all about trying different food places...

We travel with our 5 year old son, and he is (LUCKILY) not a picky eater at all...so for us, that makes trying new places pretty easy and fun.

I don't know if I would go back or not...some of the seasonings weren't to my taste...but I knew that going in. You have to be prepared for some exotic dishes and flavors...

I had the gyro and I can't remember what hubby had...mine was really good. Didn't care for the sides. The dessert Baklava is TOO DIE FOR. So yummy.

They use a fair amount of curry and I can't remember the other spice...so know that going in...

GOOD LUCK. I DO think you should try it... You never know...it may become your new favorite!!

For me it isn't adventurous either, but for someone who is not used to this type of food....it really can be. I know several people who just hated it and that is because they like simple, plain foods and not things that are different or spiced etc. If you eat couscous nightly, then you DEF wouldn't find it adventurous. I personally enjoy it, but can see where many do not. i feel the same way about Norway and their food. I love it but have taken people who literally couldn't eat a thing there.

I could go to Marrakesh and eat nothing but the harira soup and mint tea and be happy! Beef brewat rolls are good, but i am not a big fan of dates and so I stay way from that one now.

Hubby likes their hummus, but says mine is better....lol....I think he is biased though!

I have to be honest and say that we thought the food was nasty. We won't go back...
