Disney release room and packages past September 2021?

start princess meet and greets

have parades?

have character meals?

BBB?

stop mandatory masks?

I know no one knows for sure and most will be based on a vaccine but I heard Florida is loosing up on restrictions so not sure if Disney is folllwkng suit. We want to book for next late fall but getting eager to go so thinking about this coming March 2021 as well but won’t go without princess meet and greets and BBB. Anyone have any insider information or even rumors they want to spill?

Nobody knows is the answer, sadly. If you want to go, I’d book and keep checking back for discounts to add.

There are character meals, albeit socially distanced but there are several available. The cavalcades, while not proper parades, are much more enjoyable IMO. They’ve been so great since they’re welcome surprises and not really long. We’ve enjoyed Disney post covid times and while I do want to see much of pre covid Disney return, I still enjoy our visits.

Disney isn't going to be swayed by Florida. They will open up slowly. I am leaning toward a March 2021 but my expectation is it will look like it looks now.

Did you find the characters are out more walking around since they aren’t standing for pictures? Anything else that’s different that you actually enjoy post Covid?

So during the character meal at Topolino Terrace, the characters walk among the tables and you can take socially distanced selfies. Also I think at Garden Grill, they stay in the center and pass out cards now but we didn’t eat there.

There are a lot of changes at WDW post covid but it’s still awesome. There are characters in places you don’t normally see them, at the MK train station waving from above, in the gazebo at Epcot UK pavilion, etc. The character interaction isn’t high on our list since my kids are teens and pre-teen but it is still fun. We have really enjoyed the lower crowds and being able to see details you’d normally miss because we’d always been trying not to walk into people. We’ve seen things at parks we’ve been visiting for years that we never noticed before. Granted the super low crowds from a month+ ago are likely gone, it’s still been wonderful.

We also like the social distancing on rides and in the queues. It’s nice to not have to squeeze in like sardines waiting in line and cram into ride vehicles with strangers. I hope that even when they have a vaccine and our lives return to normal, we can keep social distancing. I have never liked strangers in my space bubble. Lol I always hated when cm asked everyone to scoot up and use all available space. Ugh. I think where it’s also nice is the skyliner, your party gets their own ride vehicle. Where it’s not as fun is the bus.

I like the enhanced cleaning at the parks and the resorts. I feel like this is something they should always do especially during flu season. I hope that all of these cleaning measures stick around. Although I can’t see Disney saying, sorry guests were no longer cleaning the remote and your room as well as before but maybe they’ll try to sneak that in.

Truly for us, the only real negative is that WDW isn’t running full throttle and everything isn’t open. Yes the masks are a hassle and not super fun in the heat, but in reality we usually forget we’ve got them on.

Thanks for the review. Makes me want to go post Covid how before things get back to normal.

With Disney announcing 28,000 layoffs today, I'd say much of what you're hoping for isn't coming back soon. I'd be surprised if we see many of those things happen before next summer.
