hello

We are a group of 10 travelling. Some meals are separate groups (4 at one restaurant, 2 at another for example) but some are all together. We have travelled with 7 before but not 10

I am wondering what table seating would be like at following restaurants and if it would be better to split group instead?

Chef mickey
Ohana
Garden grill
Crystal palace (i seem to recall seeing some large tables)
Minnie dine at hollywood and vine
1900 park fare

We had a group of 9 at all of these except Garden Grill and Hollywood & Vine last month, and we were all seated at one table.

We have been at all of these restaurants - many several times - with a party of 10 and some with a party of 11 and sat at 1 table (except for Chef Mickey's - we were at 2 tables right next to each other) - even if we had separate reservations - we were always sat together.

Looks like you'll be there for at least part of the Chrstimas to New Year's week when parks and restaurants will be packed. Start by trying to book one reservation for the maximum number of people who will be dining together. Restaurants have some large tables, but not many so at least they'll know you are a large group and you'll have a better chance of sitting together or near each other. If you book two or more smaller groups castmembers will have smaller sized tables allocated for the multiple reservations. You can ask to be seated together when you check in, but during the days around Christmas and New Years it will be much harder because you've chosen many popular character meals so it will depend on whether tables near each other become available at about the same time. Or you might be seated on opposite sides of the room. Good luck.

I think the best thing to do is plan for the worst (not being able to get a single reservation or sit together) but hope for the best. That way you don't have unrealistic expectations, know what I mean?

All of them may seat you together.
All of them may seat you apart.

No way to know until you get there.
we aren't too woried, mostly just wondering which restaurants have good seating for a larger group, vs restaurants that we would be more comfortable sitting separate. I am thinking that Garden Grill is one that we may want to sit at separate tables, i seem to recall booths being awkward for example (haven't been in many years, maybe 10 or more)

how was the table set up at Hollywood and vine? I think that is a bit of a smaller restaurant, right? Did you feel too crowded, would you have prefered separate tables in your opinion?

Sorry I have taken so long to answer your question, we had two table that were pushed together. We did not feel the least bit crowded. Two tables adjacent to one another probably would not have made that much of a difference. The only time the restaurant felt small was when the characters came by and the grandkids got up from the table to dance.
