Restricted menus for DDP?

Hello all,
We have never used the Disney Dining Plan, however we are considering using it on our next vacation in November.
We like to use signature restaurants at least two or three times during our visit and I understand that to do so with the DDP requires two table service meals per signature meal.
Does anyone know, if certain items on the menu in these restaurants is restricted to normal paying diners or is the menu choice open to all?
Many thanks in advance

Except sushi at California Grill - on the Dining Plan, you can get it but as your entree (vs. appetizer).

Actually I was told this by our server at Wolfgang Puck Cafe, not CA Grill. I have read here on the boards that some guests have been restricted from ordering two sushi items on the DDP at CA Grill. I believe it was Snake in the Grass and Yoshi's Sampler, but that has not been my experience. I ate there twice on DDP last year, and did have the Snake in the Grass as an appetizer. I was there again in June 07 and ordered Spicy Sensation and another sushi as appetizers, no problem. So far the "sushi as entree, not as an appetizer " at Wolfgang Puck Cafe has been the only restriction ever mentioned to us by our server, although it's not a signature restaurant. YMMV...
