I'm trying to book my dining reservations, and I have know idea where to eat at what park.

So far I have booked CRT, and Chef Mickey for breakfast since we are staying in the CR.
It will be my DH and I, and our 9 yr old DD, and 2 yr old DS. I'm trying to choose restraunts that will appeal to all of us. I read really good reviews for The Garden Grill at Epcot. My DS would love to see Chip and Dale. Any other suggestions for Epcot and the other parks?

What kinds of food do you and your family normally like? A good place to start is to look at the different menus posted on various website to get a sense of what types of food are available at each place. (The menu items change over time, but it'll give you a pretty good idea of what to expect.)

For a listing of the places with characters, you can use the Character meals search on the Disney site, but note that not all meals at a given place have characters (e.g., there are characters at Tusker House for breakfast, but not for lunch or dinner).

The food at Garden Grill is average, but the characters are fun, and the restaurant rotates over the land ride. If you do eat there, go on the ride first and at dinner, you can talk about what land you are entering into. I think it's fun. The Aquarium at Epcot does not have characters, but does have a bunch of fish inside an aquarium. They also have the princesses at Norway (Akershus), but I only like breakfast there.

DHS has Hollywood N Vine character breakfast, but I thought the food was bad. They have new characters now than when we were there, and I hope food has improved. 50s Prime Time Cafe for dinner is fun - the servers (if they are good) will yet at your children about their table manners and other fun stuff. Sci-Fi is really fun at DHS. You eat inside, but it is decorated like a drive-in-movie, with the tables in the configuration of cars facing a giant movie screen. It is a burger/ sandwich place, but food is good and milkshakes better.

AK has Tusker House character breakfast, which was really good. I like Yak and Yeti there. While not exclusive, it has chinese food on the menu which is a good change of pace from the other Disney restaurants. Rainforest Cafe is in the front of the park, but it is not on the DP.

If you are going to MK, you can go over to the MK resorts as options for dinner (like CM at CR). If Epcot or DHS, you can walk from Epcot to BW or BC restaurants, and DHS is further. At AK, you can go bus over to AKL. I am not a big fan of leaving the park to eat at different resorts as you lose travel time. Then, there is DTD that has many options - my favorite being Fulton's Crab House. Good luck in your planning.

Tusker House at AK has a great b-fast.

Don't forget your easy access to restaurants at the monorail resorts and the boat to WL.

Ohana at the Poly and Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge are always on our list when we stay at the CR. These are both really fun for boys and girls. No characters, but activities. At Ohana they have cocounut races or hula dancing or limbo. At Whispering Canyon, there are Lincoln Logs in the lobby and the servers are pretty funny and cut up with the children. Have your son or daughter ask for ketchup and see what happens.

For a non-themed dinner, we also like the Wave right there at the CR.

Magic Kingdom: You've already got my favorite with CRT, but I also like Tony's
EPCOT (my favorite park to eat in): LeCellier, San Angel Inn, Akershus, Teppan Edo
Hollywood Studios: 50's!!!!!
Animal Kingdom: Tusker House for breakfast

AK

Tuskerhouse- great breakfast with characters, if you go get an ADR at 8:05 you can be done eating before RD.

Yak & Yeti- Lunch, food was good and plentiful, kids liked everything and enjoyed it, it was a quiet respite to a busy day.

EPCOT

MK

CRT- really need to try this at least once- both my DD and DS REALLY like the meal, the wishing star, the wand and sword and all the attention. Pricy but worth it if you can afford it. We did dinner and we all loved our food.

CP- Breakfast buffet was really good, special order omelets, and pancakes- even chocolate chip, mickey waffes are good but kids were ready for pancakes since they are missing at many disney buffets :confused3

DHS

Scfi- we did lunch. Food is okay, not bad not great, this is an experience meal- kids really liked it, the milkshakes, desserts, it is so different then typical restaurants.

It's great that you have booked two big ones - CRT and CM. We did those on our first trip with our kids, and it was great!

We didn't like Garden Grill (the food was so awful that DH talked to the manager who gave us our TS credits back to use elsewhere).

At Epcot, we liked Le Cellier and Biergarten. Biergarten has fun music and dancing for the kids, and we liked the food. Just be aware that the tables are set for 8, so you might be sitting with 4 other people (we were sat with two retired couples the first time and another family of 4 the second time).

At AK, we loved Tusker House lunch, and I wouldn't hesitate to try breakfast. Characters are just at breakfast. For dinner after a day at AK, it is really easy to take a quick bus to AKL and eat at Jiko (where we ate) or Boma or Saana. A taxi back to our resort (ASMusic) was about $15 and completely worth the money not to spend over an hour getting kids back to our resort.

AT MK, we liked Crystal Palace for dinner. I wouldn't hesitate to go back just for the food, and your kids can see Pooh characters! Another near-MK-but-outside the park option is 1900 Park Fare at GF. We did this one night, and, again, took a taxi back to our resort. For dinner, there is Cinderella, the Prince, Stepmother, and Stepsisters (too funny). The food was good (strawberry soup!), but the atmosphere made me a bit nuts. (They serve breakfast, too, with Alice, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins.)

For DHS, we did go to Hollywood and Vine for Playhouse Disney characters. The food was okay, and I wouldn't do anything but breakfast there (more difficult to mess up). I would definitely go there because, with your kids' ages, you won't need to go back. (My kids were just 3 and almost 8 when we went - they loved it.) On our next trip, I would like to try Sci Fi Diner - mixed reviews of food (not all bad) and it looks like fun for the kids! I would like to go to Brown Derby for the food (2 TS credits, though, if on the DDP).

My only warning is don't book too many buffets in a row. I accidentally did (just the way that it worked out since I planned what park that we would be at on each day), and I was so sick of buffets! Our only two actual table service meals were at the end of our trip.

Definitely take a look at menus, as a PP suggested. That will probably help you narrow down options.

Have a great trip!

Liberty Tree at Magic Kingdom the food portions are huge and the food is great! We go around 2:30 and it is usually pretty quiet.
We like Tusker House at Animal Kingdom but flame tree is the best for counter service.
We have never had any luck with Tony's at the Magic Kingdom so I do not recommend at all!
