Hard rock cafe or jimmy buffet at universal?

Are they both reasonable priced? Can find menu but not prices

Are they both quite close to either of the parks??

Both are within a 5 minute walk from the entrance to either park.

For me it would be Jimmy Buffet. If you can get there before 5 then you will probably get a walk in. Anytime after that and you will be looking at quite a wait.
Price wise I think most of the restaraunts in the City Walk area are comparable but I do remember being very surprised at just how reasonable the prices there were at Buffets

Out of the two, I would definitely go for Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville as, in my opinion, the Hard Rock Cafe is overpriced for what you get. As Kenny says, both are within a 5 mintue wallk from either park. Hard Rock Cafe is situated smack bang in the middle of the two entrances, whereas Margaritaville is closer to Islands of Adventure (just).

Just to be awkward and confuse matters, could I throw another option into the mix - NBA City. Situated near to the Hard Rock Cafe, one of the best meals we've had at City Walk and very reasonably priced (for theme park food)

We are at Universal 3 nights, probably Cheesecake factory for 1, Margaritaville for 2nd and no idea for 3rd, Hard Rock, NBA, Nascar, Pastamore? can't decide.

I'm a huge fan of Margaritaville and a Parrothead (to the uninitiated, that's a Jimmy Buffett fan), but the food is slightly better at Hard Rock and the place itself is, to coin a phrase, awesome. I think those of us who've been more than once get blase about it - you almost stop seeing it - but the sheer volume and quality of memorabilia is incredible. It holds the accolade of being the only restaurant we've visited every trip. It's the original theme restaurant and still the best - just a really cool concept and brilliantly executed. Admittedly, we tend to just go the bar for a drink these days.

Of the others at CityWalk (leaving Emeril's aside as that's an entirely different prospect from the rest), my favourite is the Nascar Sports Grille. I wasn't keen on the previous incarnation, but the new one's good.

I should probably add that the food isn't out of this world - on a par with Margaritaville, I'd say - but I did enjoy the wings and the fries (which from memory were seasoned and came with a tasty dip). The place itself has a nice vibe, though.

Yes it does have a kids menu.
We went to both last month.
We made a mistake at Jimmy Buffets because we had the Natchos to share to start between three of us,and we were too full to enjoy our burgers.Natchos were,though, the best we had ever had.They are a must have if there are enough of you.
We loved Hard Rock too.I had the pulled pork and it was really good.Hard Rock is so big inside you will rarely have to wait long

I have a special card that gives me 20% off all meals at Hard Rock Cafes in the world. Most of the HRC are loyalty cards and you save for a discount, but our friend at the HRH gave us it.

I agree the HRC is amazing, it makes me laugh looking at people in there who don't bother to look at the memorabillia on the walls, completely missing the point of the place.

Also being a parrothead ( listening to Margarittaville radio on Sirius as I type this) I would say visit there also. The atmosphere there is special.

the nachos at buffets are awsome orderded them as a starter and wish we had never ordered a main meal. more than enough to share probably with 4 people let alone 2. The rest of the meal was good we both had different burgers but to be honest after the nachos we were too full to finish them. Nice cocktails.

Had a drink in hard rock but no food so can't comment on that.

If others are getting thrown into the mix then I would also recommend NBA. DW says she had the best steak on any of our visits to Florida in NBA, and for a unique dessert Cinnamon Berries are a must
