If we get the "basic" DDP and I go to a restaurant that requires 2 TS credits, does the meal include an appetizer? I've not yet been to the California Grill and I'm trying to justify spending 2 TS credits on a visit.

no - still just the entree, non-alcoholic bev & dessert. Which is one of the reasons we don't do the signature restaurants on the regular dining plan...don't think they're worth 2 TS credits, JMHO

This is the same reason we don't do 2TS credit restaurants either. Not worth it to us. The only way I'd do them is if we had the Deluxe Dining Plan.

There are a few ways to get an appetizer included on the basic plan:

1) Le Cellier's prix fixe menu, which is permitted on the basic DDP
2) Cinderella's Royal Table, which is a fixed price meal and always includes an appetizer
3) Family style all you can eat restaurants like Ohana
4) Fantasmic Dining Package at Brown Derby or Mama Melrose

That's it. Signature restaurants do not include an appetizer on the basic, even though they cost 2 credits per person.

This is one of about half a dozen reasons we ended up doing Deluxe Dining. We just couldn't justify it if appetizers weren't included in 2 credit restaurants (and we really wanted to go to California Grill).

:) We use 2 credits each time we do Ca Grill on the DDP. The FW are worth it and the appetizers are not that expensive. We go for the ambiance and view--nothing like it and to us worth the credits. We also used 2 credits to do the Fantasmic package and enjoyed the appetizers with our meal. If you want to do a signature then go for it. Everyone should do CA Grill just once...
Have fun:cloud9:

The cheese soup is the least expensive appetizer at Le Cellier - like under $6 a bowl...if you choose from the prix fixe menu you absolutely cannot make any changes in the choices - you have to take the entree & the dessert listed. So if you want the mushroom filet you can't get it on that, or want a different dessert, etc.

We just buy one cheese soup order, and use it for "dip" with our bread sticks.

Yes - but as mentioned above, you must select from the fixed price menu and no substitutions are allowed. The more expensive entrees are not included in the fixed price menu - in fact there is apparently only one beef entree featured (prime rib).

Thats fine for me, i don't realy like meat! So usually just have the soup when i go to le cellier! :) the ravioli and choc moose will be an added bonus!

Do you think DDP would work for this at Les Chefs de France (dinner menu)?

The French Menu
available until 7 p.m.

Soupe a l'oignon gratinee
the classic onion soup topped with Gruyere cheese

Demi poulet fermier a la broche, pommes puree au basilic et tomate braisee
Half of a farm raised rotisserie chicken, basil-flavored mashed potatoes and braised tomato

Creme brulee
Vanilla creme brulee and a madeleine

$33.95

Chef's Menu is not included in the dining plan. Only Le Cellier at this time permits you to order the fixed price menu and get an appetizer on the basic plan.

You could of course order the chicken and the creme brulee, but you'd have to pay for the appetizer.
