My nephews were just over at my house and they both got sick with food poisining. It got me thinking how horrible and ruined our trip would be if one of us got sick while at WDW. After all, with the Dining plan, we will be eating A LOT! Has anyone gotten sick after eating at any of the eateries or restaurants? :sad2:

My DH did at Biergarten over the weekend but the rest of us were fine. In fact, he got sick while he was eating. Not sure if it was the richness of the food, the heat or something else.

In 2000, my MIL, FIL, DH and I all got sick aafter eating at the Teppanyaki grill. About 20 minutes afterwards, we all started looking green and some of us had some....uh....intestinal trouble. Luckily it didn't last longer than a few hours but we all agreed that we will not be eating there again on our next trip.

Wow. I'm sorry to hear about that. At least I'm not going to those restaurants.

Prime Time Cafe,

I wouldn't recommend the Chicken Puke Pie

The ESPN club at Disneyland got me. I was sick about 20 minutes after eating there. It only lasted a few hours but was not fun.

LOL... THis trip?? Every place made us sick 'cause we ate too much having free dining! LIterally every time we ate we shoved every last bit into our mouths because it was free and we felt sick every day :teeth:

I got sick after eating at San Angel Inn in 2003. I had eaten there several times before without a problem. We had an Illuminations cruise on the Breathless afterwards, and we ended up being late leaving on the cruise because I was SO ill. I really wasn't sure that I would make it. Our captain was awesome, though, and because of my illness he only charged us the price of the pontoon boat, which was quite a bit cheaper! :goodvibes BTW- Back then the pontoon boats were cheaper than the Breathless..........I'm not sure by how much, but we saved quite a bit.

My cousin got food poisoning at Chef Mickey's a few years ago.

Oh no, I'm going to Chef Mickeys and the prime time cafe. Hopefully, we won't get sick. I'm really suprised with Jiko though. I heard this was one of the best restaurants on property.

yuck!!!! one of us had to leave the table, and two more of us shortly there after...NEVER AGAIN......

I'm sure that every restaurant on property will be mentioned before this thread is over. Just because I got sick at San Angel Inn doesn't mean that I won't eat there again. Also, I had food poisoning before and the doctor says that it's not something that hits you in a matter of minutes or hours. I'm guessing that when we get "sick" from these places, chances are that it isn't actually from these places at all. That was the only time I've gotten sick on WDW property in 29 trips, so I'm not overly worried about it.

I agree- I wouldn't cancel any ADRs or avoid places you were originally interested in becuse someone got sick there. I'm sure someone has gotten sick at each and every WDW restaurant- even V&As. Why be paranoid thinking about getting sick, when chances are you won't?

It is hard to be really sure it is food poisoning, or a virus, or too much food, too rich of food, too much excitement, too much heat, or just too much of everything.

Unless you know for sure that there was a wide spread outbreak of numerous people getting sick after eating the exact same food at the same restaurant at the same time, one can not be sure.

I would not worry about it and certainly not avoid certain restaurants.

Millions of people visit Disney every year and I am sure at some point someone has gotten sick after eating at every restaurant. That does not mean it was food poisoning, or that you will get sick at the same restaurant on your trip.

::yes::

Earl of Sandwhich. I was very queezy all the way home. We ate there before we left for the airport. Luckily the kids took one bite out of their sandwhiches and thought they were so gross they wouldnt eat them. So they didnt get sick.

Would never eat there again.

I agree fully.I think it is many times a combination of heavy, rich food that we may not be used to eating, eating on the run, being at a place that has a gazillion people eating, breathing, touching the same areas I touch etc. etc. So many times we just THINK it's food poisioning and it's not. We had a party of 9 go to the Biergarten and I was the only one to be sick. I believe it was because I have a problem with heavy foods too late at nite.
