I was trying to make a reservation with Cape May Cafe and we are on the dining plan, however this is the first place I have tried to reserve that ask for a credit card as well? Do they charge the card? I am unsure why they need a credit card number and information additionally. Anyone know? This dinner planning stuff is confusing!

They need a credit card number so they can charge a fee if you don't cancel and don't show up.

I am moving this post to the Reservations board. Before you book any restaurant requiring a credit card hold, read the sticky thread at the top of that board regarding credit card holds and cancellation policies. Don't go in for these without being clear on what the cancellation policies are, or as clear as we can be at this time about them.

They started doing this because people were booking multiple ADR's for the same time. They require a credit card and will charge 10$ per person if you don't cancel within 24 hours or if you are a no show.

I think it's great they they are finally doing this.

Awesome. Okay. Should not be a trouble at all. Just wanted to make sure it was just for cancellation purposes and nothing else:) Only one more night to reserve for dining! YAY
