Hi
I would like on my trip to dine off site a few times
I don't really know my way in anaheim but I read somewhere that there is a olive garden in Irvine a few miles away anybody know anything about that DH loves olive garden and I am thinking of going for dinner maybe in a cab am I crazy ??? it's a few miles away ( 3-4 miles ) will it cost me an arm and a leg :confused3
I would love to do this for Dh but don't want to pay 30$ cab each way ???
thanks

:thumbsup2 4 mickey, there is an olive garden in irvine, it's about 15-18 miles from DL (so that might cost more in cab fare than you wanted to spend).

We don't normally ventured that far from DL, because we've always found plenty of off-site restaurant choices within a mile or two of the parks. Tony Roma's is just across the street from DL. Down Harbor Boulevard there's an Outback Steakhouse, Joe's Crabshack and Red Robin. OOOOH... and there's a new Bubba Gump's restaurant that opened in the GardenWalk (can't wait to try that myself :cool1: )

Hope that helps you :thumbsup2

MiMi's Cafe at the corner of Manchester & Harbor (right next to the HoJo) gets rave reviews from many here. I personally LOVE it!

There's an Olive Garden at Westfield Main Place mall in Santa Ana (http://westfield.com/mainplace/). I believe they still have a shuttle that picks up from the DL area hotels, but it's not too far of a cab ride, about 5 miles.

Cheesecake Factory recently opened a location at GardenWalk, on Katella just east of Harbor Blvd.

Also heard there is or going to be a Mortons and Ruth Chris. I usually negotiate with a cabbie if I need one and offer a set amount to take me somewhere. There are many of them in the DLR area.

I saw there was a Hometown Buffet on Katella, I imagine we'll hit this a few times when we are there. Seems to make sense-- light breakfast in the hotel room, go back to the room for a bit in the afternoon and lunch at Hometown buffet- probably would be full for the rest of the day.

hi
Where is gardenwalk ???do we need a cab ?
' because bubba gump is very inyeresting:)
thanks

I always say you are on vacation! If taking a cab to an Olive Garden is something that would make your vacation fun, go for it! There's never a crazy thing you can do on vacation in my book.

And I second Mimi's Cafe on Harbor. Great prices, huge portions and the food is really good. Its about a ten minute walk from the turnstiles of DL. It looks like a little cottage, very cute place inside and out.

Enjoy your trip!

A RUTH CHRIS' STEAKHOUSE??? Can't wait for that!!!

A favorite of mine is Millie's, it's located right across the street from Disneyland on Harbor.

This place serves an excellent Monte Cristo for those not wanting to pay the $20 price tag at the Blue Bayou.

Another vote for Mimi's and Millies. Mimi's is REALLY good! Millies is more like a Denny's, but very decent for what you get and for what it costs. They both serve comfort food. Mimi's bread basket and Clam Chowder Yum!!! I'm getting hungry now!

yep and at mimi's i love their pasta jumbalaya, excellent flavors and the portions are generous and yes i love their bread baskets, some good stuff there.

How do y'all keep Mimi's and Millies straight? I am so confused... :sad2:

haha it's not that confusing, mimi's has a touch of elegance to the place where millie's is basically a denny's/IHOP style of restaurant.
