Our family of five, with two teenagers, plan on eating lunch in the park (making those ADRs), and dinner outside the park to save money. I've been doing quite a bit of research on Orlando restaurants, but have no idea where they are in relation to Bonnet Creek. We plan on renting a car, but would like the restaurants to be close. We like a good pizza, and low-key places like steaks and shakes or Bahama Breeze. It's been 13 years since my last trip to FL so I have no idea where anything is. Will we be within close driving distance? Can we do dinner out and zip back over to the parks? Has anyone else tried this plan? I don't want to be using that kitchen in the condo too much, need to keep it clean for the next family.

Thanks.

The closest restaurants would be in Downtown Disney, but you're within 15 min or so of the Crossroads, which has several. Sweet Tomatoes and TGI Fridays are both there along with several others. Just on the other side of the Interstate is a Bahama Breeze, Golden Corral, Bennigans, and a burger joint (Wendys, I think).

If you're at Animal Kingdom, you can take Sherbeth Rd to 192 and there are lots of restaurants there.

Depending on which park, it's pretty easy to leave for a meal and come back. We often do it.

There is also an Unos at the Crossroads shopping center. I don't know what the road is that Steak and Shake is on but if you turn left at the light before the entrance to the Crossroads Shopping Center, there is one close to that area. It is just beyond Downtown Disney. I don't remember the name of the road it is on but Winn Dixie is just down the road. DH checked and it is Hwy 535 (the Apopoka Vineland Road).

Is there any restaurants in or at Bonnet Creek. I read something about there being a "Flippers" - is this on site? Just sandwiches? What about snack bars at the pools?
Any place for a quick breakfast at the resort?
We have an active preschooler - so quick and easy is our style...

We're at Wyndham Bonnet Creek right now and have been pleasantly surprised with the many, many restaurants within driving distance from the hotel. As many mentioned, Crossroads is a short drive just down the road from DTD. Crossroads has McDonalds, Taco Bell, Unos, Perkins, Red Lobster, Sweet Tomatoes, Flippers, Chevy's, and probably a few more I'm forgetting. Just down the road on Vineland are Landrys (which we love!), Lone Star Steakhouse, Golden Corral, Carrabbas, another McDonalds, and Outback Steakhouse (closer to the outlet mall). Also close by are Giordanos (we had delivery at the resort just last night!), Olive Garden, Ihop, Shoney's, Macaroni Grill, and many others. All of these are a VERY short drive from the resort.

Its in the same shopping center as the Giordanos, on the right hand side of the road. I think the road is called Apoka-Vineland or something like that. You can't miss it as Crossroads has a huge sign across the street when you come to the light. There's also a Walgreens on this road as well, if you need any quick supplies or meds.

Giordano's has the best pizza in the area, and is located just outside Disney property...

We also like Logan's roadhouse.

Both restaurants have websites, so you can get addresses for GPS, or directions.

Have a great trip!

Flippers is in the Crossroads along with Uno's, Chevy's, McDonalds, Perkins, TGIFRidays etc, etc. They are NOT walkable or even very close to BC - must have transportation.

If you sign up on the SweetTomatoes website, they will send you coupons now and again for a BOGO meal. We used one when we were down there. That shopping center has tons of restaurants. We really liked the food at SweetTomatoes. The atmosphere not great but the food was good and different.

I know this is off-topic, but do you have any photos of the newly added pool area at Bonnet Creek?

If you haven't seen it yet, check out the "I Looooooovve bonnett creek" thread. there are several pics of the new pool in that thread.

thank you for this topic it has been quite helpful. We are starting to plan our next Disney trip and looking at places of sight. Bonnet Creek looks quite ideal dor our family of 5. a couple of the restaurants here I have never heard of before. Could someone tell me more about Sweet Tomatoes?

What about restaurants at bonnet creek? We will be headed back to our condo around 6pm one night, it would be nice just to eat there. Any recommendations?

Sweet Tomatoes is buffet with salad bar, soups, pasta and dessert bar. I generally avoid buffets, but have eaten here a couple of times. It was pretty good and reasonably priced. My kids loved the mini ice cream cones you fill yourself!

Prices at BC make Disney seem cheap! We are here now and sat down at the pool bar/grill for a sandwich the other day... a burger was $16! We left and ate off site.
