Restaurants near Saratoga Springs?

We are going for two weeks in September... and are staying at Saratoga Springs the whole time. We have two small children (18 months and just 4 years) and from what it looks like on the maps, Saratoga Springs is very close to Downtown Disney restaurants. But how close is very close? From my room to Wolfgang Pucks? Cap'n Jacks? We have ADRs at both of these and I'm wondering if I can really just plop my kids in the double stroller and walk? or is it quicker to take the bus? also, if I'm hopping on a bus, where else is close just for dinner on a pool day? is there a difference if I'm going to the east or west side of downtown disney? Also, how are the kids meals at these restaurants?

Also, we wanted to do Whispering Canyon on a non-park pool day... is it a ridiculous amount of time to get there?

If you've stayed here, where else do you recommend for a quick commute for dinner?

I can't remember which set of rooms is closest, but I think it is only a 10 minute walk to DTD. There is the Rainforest in DTD too.

It depends on where in SSR you are staying at will dictate how far of a walk it is to either West Side or Market Place. You can always take the boat or the bus. Pucks is very good. Never ate at Cap'n Jacks. We love Portobello and Bongos also.
