I've been trying to do a little research for things to do around port in Nassau and trying to find some "local" good restaurants. I came across one named Conch Fritters by the Straw Market. Has anyone eaten there before? Is there any more recommendations?

We were just in Nassau on Friday. I don't remember seeing a Conch Fritters, but I do know that Senor Frogs was just on the other side of the straw market, and Hard Rock Cafe was within very short distance as well. We didn't venture any farther than those places, so there may have been other restaurants that we didn't see.

Conch Fritters is across the street from the Hilton--maybe an 8-10 minute walk from the ship. I've eaten there several times, and I think it's the best dining and service within walking distance of the ship. I also recommend the Crocodile Cafe, a short walk from the ship, overlooking Bay Street.

We really like a place called Green Shutters. It is on Parliament St, which is a side street that runs perpendicular to Bay St (the main shopping street). It is a quiet little place with excellent Bahamian fried chicken, macaroni & cheese, peas and rice and guava duff for dessert. They also have British pub type food, but I LOVE Bahamian food when I'm there, so I haven't tried the other choices.
If you Google Green Shutters Nassau you'll find a site with a lot of other choices.
