Haven't been to Disney in a few years. After checking on prices at Disney restaurants, I got a little sticker shock. Anyone know of any places near OKW or Downtown Disney with good food and better prices. Thanks for any suggestions you can give.

We like Carrabba's at Vineland Avenue for Italian food and Sweet Tomatoes at Crossroads for their salad buffet when we want to eat healthily ;) - and cheaply! The latter is a bit like eating in a warehouse and totally lacking in ambiance, especially if very busy, but makes up for it with excellent food.

Will you be in a studio or a larger villa? If you have a kitchen, preparing your own breakfasts and a few lunches and/or dinners is a great way to save some money on meals. The OKW kitchens are spacious and well equipped.

We have ordered Giordanno's Pizza for delivery at OKW a few times. Their Chicago Style pizza is very good and was plenty for both dinner and leftovers for lunch the next day.

Wolfgang Puck Express at Downtown Disney is delicious and better value than most Disney restaurants. I've heard Pollo Campero is tasty and a good value, but we didn't get a chance to try it on our last visit.

I can't offer help on offsite restaurants as we usually don't have a car.

If you venture a short distance past the Downtown Disney area, you'll find lots of dinning choices.

earl of sandwich in DTD is popular for being a good value. pretty much just sandwiches, though.

If you have a car, take a ride over to Celebration. We just love the Celebration Town Tavern - the fly in fresh fish from the Boston area each day and have some of my favs that I miss here in Chicago. They even honored the "Tables in Wonderland" discount for us one year, though they are not a Disney owned nor operated restaurant.

We like Miller's Ale House. Take a left out of the main road with the hotels by DTD (sorry, I'm not sure of the name) You'll be on the main drag. The restaurant is only a couple of blocks on the left, at a light.

If you have a car, right beyond Downtown Disney you'll find a bunch of choices, Olive Garden, Denny's etc. We only stayed at OKW once and we were on the Dining Plan, so we were very disappointed at the Quick Service option there. If you have little ones, TRex in Downtown Disney is a great option..

We LOVE Celebration Town Tavern, too! Have to get their fried clams with bellies, since we don't get those in Indiana. Celebration is such a charming little town, too.

Two of our favorites, too!

Like mentioned before: Earle of Sandwich, Orlando Ale House (always go there) and Sweet Tomatoes. We also enjoy Flippers pizza...they deliver and have online specials. Giordanos for deep dish Chicago style pizza, Red Lobster, Romano's Macaroni Grill, Chili's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Perkin's, Chevy's, TGIFridays, Joe's Crab Shack and Bahama Breeze...are just some of the offerings nearby.

Bubbaloo's BBQ isn't very far if you are driving (get a map though).

Olivia's at OKW is a fine place to eat, or, you can take the boat downstream to The Turf Club (eat outside if you can). Wolfgang Puck's Express, House of Blues, 'the Earl!'...great choices.

Bongo's is quite nice, but, you have to be selective to keep the price down.

Our favorite is to go to Ghirardelli's ice cream and have Ice Cream for supper. Naughty but Nice!
