We are heading to the Lincoln area this week-end for the Polar Express, and are looking for a couple of places to eat, breakfast, lunch, or dinner. We are also planning on going to Santa's Village on Sunday.
Thanks and Happy Holidays

Not Lincoln, but re Santa's Village. It may sound obvious, but DRESS WARM. We did that one year and it was probably the coldest I have ever been. (Then there were people there with jeans and sneakers. What are they thinking? :confused3)

It's tricky because you're inside and out between the rides and shows. Make sure you've got layers that can come on and off. Heavy socks, long johns, snowpants for everyone, not just the kids. I had hand and foot warmer packets for everyone too.

Did I mention it was cold?!

I will say, though, it was a magical day- something about riding a ferris wheel in the mountains with snowflakes fallling... definately the stuff memories are made of!

Hmmm.. Lincoln is hard because it is kind of in the middle of nowhere.. are you going to be anywhere near Conway? they have GREAT restaurants.. all you do is drive down the main drag and there are dozens of great places to eat... have fun, and yes, it is going to be really cold!

I haven't been there in many years, but DSIL used to own a condo in Lincoln and we visited many times. My favorite restaurant was The Common Man.

We did the (Lincoln) Polar Express two years ago and it was truly magical. Light sparkly snow falling as we arrived at the North Pole, passers-by waving at us as the train chugged by, lanterns glowing...absolutely lovely. It was the first time we've ever done it.

We got there hours and hours early to poke around and see the area and stumbled across North Woodstock (about two miles down the road from the PE parking lot). A lovely little town! We ate at the Woodstock Inn/Station/Brewery (I'm sure you can google it) - lots of fun, very good food, and a great kids menu. Steps away from there were a candy store and a real old-fashioned general store. Fascinating for all of us! But, get back to the PE gift shop/loading area early, early, early (an hour isn't too early - and the kids changed into their pjs in the car as we passed it in the lot as we headed back into the giftshop/waiting room) to get in front of "your" loading door - depending upon your ticket level - to get in line to board. The gift shop/waiting area gets totally jam-packed.

Have a terrific time! Hope this info helps and feel free to ask any other questions...
