I realized I have a restaurants.com gift certificate for $50, so after a quick search, House of Blues in Downtown Disney shows up. Has anyone used this or a similar deal on property? You need to spend $100 to apply the certificate. Can we use this to cover a bunch of appetizers and alcoholic beverages? I don't intend to blend this visit with our dining plan, just as an adult's night out during our Sept. trip.

I've never used anything off Restaurants.com, so this is all new to me. Any help is much appreciated!! I wasn't sure to post this here or on the dining areas :confused3

I used a restaurant.com thing once. It wasn't in Florida but locally. Had no issues with it.

DH & I used a $50 restaurant.com GC at HOB, a few years ago.
our GC specifically stated that alcoholic beverages were excluded (yours may be different). gratuity was automatically added on the bill, as tip is based on pre-discounted amount (we added more $).
food was very good, but we had to order more than we would usually eat in order to get to the $50 pre-tax/tip. we took our leftovers back to our resort.

service was also good, but be aware restaurant is very noisy (bar area is open to dining area).
overall, i would recommend the restaurant - just check the menu & your GC to make sure you'll hit the $100 mark:

We used a restaurants.com certificate at House of Blues (Downtown Disney) two years ago. No problems at all - just spend over the minimum and read all the other fine print (i.e. a certain healthy tip will be automatically added to the bill. Don't know if alcohol applied but I'm sure appetizers would.

Yep, we used one for House of Blues at DTD actually. Worked fine. I really liked their food too and would've never thought to go there without the discount certificate. :thumbsup2

We have used the Crossroads HOB certificate on our past three or four trips. Alcohol is included, which is what allows us (party of 2) to hit the minimum ($100). We usually get the drinks in souvenir glasses, which is also included.

In each case, our server was knowledgeable and helped us ensure we hit the minimum. Let him/her know, up front, that you have the certificate and you should have no issues. We do two appetizers (the Voodoo Shrimp is amazing), two entrees, two signature drinks and a dessert to split.

We've never had them auto-include the gratuity, but we do make sure to tip based on the full (non-discounted) bill.

Enjoy! :thumbsup2

Yes, you can use the restaurant.com GC at House of Blues, but it will not be good for alcohol. We have gone there several times and the food is pretty good.

There are two different HOB locations. Make sure you are getting "Crossroads HOB." That is the one @ DTD. Alcohol is included at that location, but not the one in town. :thumbsup2

I was not aware there were two locations in Orlando! I was ordering the same thing about alcohol since it did not say that on the certificate.

The one at Downtown Disney you definitely can include alcohol and I don't think they automatically added a tip...we just made sure to tip based on the amount before the certificate
