Just a quick question: we were in Disneyland and DCA thi s past week and continually ran into the problem of the table service restaurants closing an hour or more before the parks closed. Some of the Downtown Disney restaurants were also closed by 9pm. What's up with that?

We were absolutely stunned to find out none of the table service restaurants in Disneyland park were open past 8pm. Is there a reason for this madness, or was it a freak happening?

I noticed this with some restaurants also...Don't know what is up with it though...

Um - we're early eaters? :p

The restaurants in the parks typically close earlier, especially during non-peak times. I am surprised, though, that the restaurants in Downtown Disney closed earlier. I was under the assumption that they were open until 11pm.

Hope you guys had a great visit. :)

It's normal. All the larger places (sit-down and QSR) all close at least an hour before the park. It takes a long time to close these places (CMs are there for an additional 1.5 hours or more after they close). Personally I'd rather spend that last hour going on rides when the lines are dwindling that eating.

Yeah, make sure you ask a CM to find out the places you want to eat and what time they close. Even in ODV, we close the carts exactly when the pack cloese usually but we get tons of people asking where to eat. I usually just suggest quick snacks in the front of the park ie sunplaza or Main Street.

If all else fails, theres always the Dennys, Mcdonald, and Ihope across the street on Harbor. :)

It's a real shame. We're not buger and fries kind of people and prefer to wind down with a nice meal after a long day. It was a real disappointment in an otherwise excellent trip.

Orlando's table service restaurants surely must take as long to close down, but many of them remain open even AFTER the park closes. Just took us by surprise for that reason, I guess. :)
