Restaurants around the DLR?

Our family will be staying at the Disneyland Hotel for ten days in July, and we've been trying to plan (generally) the places we'd like to eat at. Can anyone tell me about recommended restaurants that are very close to the resort? We'll eat at some of the Downtown Disney and park/resort restaurants, but we'd like some other options as well. We're renting a car, but we're a little nervous about driving in Southern CA, so the closer to the DLR, the better.;) Are there chain restaurants (Olive Garden, Friday's, Ruby Tuesday, etc?) or just any good places you'd suggest that we might miss?

Thanks in advance!

There is a MiMi's Cafe and Tony Roma's on Harbor right across from the park.

I have read a little further down on Harbor, in Garden Grove, there are other chains (Joe's Crab Shack and maybe a TGI Fridays).

There's also a Buca Di Beppo down Harbor about a mile away. It's a really fun Italian chain to take a family to.

Was going to suggest this one myself, they have really good food and prices!
They also have a table in the kitchen.

But at DTD I am so partial to Jazz Kitchen YUMMY!

North on Harbor Blvd in Fullerton there's a Ruby's Diner at Orangethorpe, in addition to a few other places in that immediate area, e.g. Tony Roma's and El Torito. Just a bit further north next to the train station is a Spaghetti Factory and Knowlwoods (burger place in 40's roadhouse decor).

South and east of DL is The Block at Orange which has a TGI Fridays and a number of interesting restaurants. To get there head south on Harbor Blvd a couple of miles, then east (left) at Chapman for a mile or so. Turn right at State College Blvd, and The Block will be on your right.

Our favorite Mexican restaurant is Chili Pepper in Orange, just keep going east on Chapman a couple more miles and turn right on Main, then make an immediate left into the parking lot. Great atmosphere, super service, great prices.

A few years back we went to Knottsberry Farms for the chicken dinner at the restaurant. We will definitely be heading back. They have this boysenberry punch (juice?) that's so great we had some concentrate shipped back home.

I've heard the In n Out burgers are really good. I hope to try them this time around.

You didn't mention your kids ages, but everything at ESPN Zone is very good. I reccommend sharing a meal because portions are rather large.:)

In-N-Out Burger is the best! Yum! There's one north of the park, at Harbor and Orangethorpe (near Ruby's, Tony Roma's and El Torito). There's also a Baja Fresh in that area.

If you go south on Harbor for a bit, there's also a Claim Jumper.

edit - oops! Not Claim Jumper, Outback! Claim Jumper is over by Knott's Berry Farm!

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone! This is just the type of information I was looking for. We have some different chains here in Connecticut than are out on the west coast, so I never would've thought to look for some of the places you guys suggested. From what I saw on their menus at their websites though, they look pretty darn yummy!!

By the way - we're actually four adults. ;)
