Restaurants always crowded or crowded because of Free Dining?

Ok.......that really wasn't my point. I'm not on a budget either, but that doesn't mean that I still don't try to keep my costs down. I'm glad you can not worry about it, but seriously, try not to make people feel like second class, just because you assume they are "on a budget' (like that's a bad thing). Like I said, there really aren't as many worries on the DDP as you seem to think there is - white meat and dark meat???? That one completely lost me, which restaurants make that distinction in credits? Like I said before, we definitely go where we want and get what we want as well, no matter if it's included on the plan or not, so i'm not worrying about anything either. If I want that donut, I'll get it anyway.

Someone on the board was worried that if they got their fried chicken at Prime Time would they be allowed to ask for white meat. For goodness sake, if they are that worried then PAY for the white meat. Someone thought their 4 y/o was going to be upset because they can no longer get that adult shrimp cocktail. Pay for it. That's my point. This board is full of folks eeking every last dime out of the plan doing spreadsheets, calculating, manipulating, and everything else. It is much easier for me to just pay OPP like most folks do. I'm not trying to make people feel like anything. If they feel like they are second class citizens then they need to look at why they feel that way.

This is a really critical point. No one can "make" anyone "feel like anything". Everyone is responsible for their own feelings, even if they're negative.

True. Also I am not one to pass up a good deal. It just has to outweigh the negative in my mind. There are plenty that love the DDP and think it is great for them. I am on the other side and think it is more of a hassle then what it's worth. I pick and chose what I feel is a good deal. I use the DDE. I buy whatever I want and hand them my resort card and DDE. They take off whatever they takeoff and I'm done. I don't have to wonder if I need two credits for this or that. We do many what would be 2 credit dinners and do them every day. The DDP would be used up very quickly. I am one of those people that just like to book a room and be done with it. Whether I get a discount or not doesn't matter as long as I have my room at the Poly! LOL!

No, some folks can't be bothered with worrying about what is covered and what not. If one doesn't have to worry about cost they why should they. It's a vacation, not a contest. If you have the money to do without the plan then why not. Does it bother you that much that there are people in this world that don't have to buy the DDP or get it for free in order to eat TS every day? LOL!

Of course it's not a contest, but the point is, the DDP saves money for some people, even getting the same meal they would have if they were not on the plan. But I think the big issue is, "if you have the money, why use the plan and possibly have to worry?" Here's my point of view on that. (I apologize to everyone, I was taught it was bad manners to talk about your financial situation to those you don't know, but here goes): Just because, like you, I can afford 14 days at the Poly (even though I'd rather be at WL!), and to eat all TS meals OOP, doesn't mean I want to spend that much if I dont have to.
Why? Well, cause I want that money in my bank account. I want to go on vacations to places other than Disney! I would rather cut my Disney expeditures by a little, by using the plan to save money on meals I would have got anyway, so I can use my money in much more interesting places (not that WDW isn't interesting!). But I can also understand the point you make of just not wanting the hassle. I personally have never found it to be a hassle, but maybe our definitions of "hassle" differ (as well as I think our definitions of "budget" differ). :rotfl: If that works for you great.....it doesn't work for me or a lot of others to use money needlessly, when a little effort can save.

Very true, but it doesn't mean people don't try to make others feel bad, even if it's just to make themselves feel better. :sunny:

It doesn't bother me at all...However, you seem to think the dining plan is some sort of welfare program for the "lower classes". We are all happy that you are able to stay 14 days at the Poly and eat TS for every meal, but you do not have to be condecending about it.

The only people that bring up the terms lower class, welfare class, second class citizens are the folks using the plan. I've never said any such thing and no one else has either. My sister used the DDP because that was the only way they could afford to eat at TS every day. Without the DDP they would be eating the usual CS garbage. Are you referring to my sister as a welfare recipient? After all, you brought up such a nasty term. I kind of think it strange how the people that don't want to be known as second class citizens are the only ones ever bringing it up. Strange indeed. :rotfl:

While I understand your point, I don't think Dean is saying that you said that.....it's your attitude, I think it's sending a different message than you are meaning it to. :thumbsup2
And I have to admit, I thought the same about your comments until the last two before my last post, where you explained your reasoning better.

For someone who thinks the dining plan is ruining Disney and never intends to use the dining plan, you certainly spend enough time spreading negativity about the program.

If you do not think your posts were pretentious, I think you need a little lesson in modesty. In your own post you seperated the people who can afford to pay out of pocket from those who are on the dining plan. That is what I was referring to. People who are on the dining plan are not necessarily people who cannot afford to pay out of pocket for all of their meals, they just know a good deal when they see one and take it.

If you walk into a car dealership, do you pay whatever price is on the sticker because you do not want to "haggle" or do you try to get the best deal you can? Obviously, those people who are sitting at the table trying to negotiate the price must not be able "to afford" to pay the sticker price, right? Not necessarily. Maybe they are just a little smarter.

It isn't just Dean using those terms. I see threads all the time about being treated like second class citizens while on the DDP, the CMs not being up to par because they are on the DDP. I don't participate in any of those. These threads are started by people on the DDP! The only people that ever say it are the DDP folks, Paranoia at it's best! I don't care how my attitude comes across. I don't use the plan because it isn't worth the few bucks it saves for what I consider a hassle. I guess you would consider me throwing money away but I don't. My time is more valuable. You said before about using the money saved for more interesting vacations. Hawaii, skiing in Utah, Italy, Greece, and everywhere in between. We do those too and I don't have to deal with the DDP to do those. I must be saving a ton of money with my DDE! LOL!

Actually for the last two cars we paid cash so they automatically cut us a deal. I didn't have to say a word. We are too smart to pay car payments. ;) :thumbsup2

Now, why do you think anyone would want to know that?? I'm just gonna leave this alone from now on.....Lady O. is outtie.

Because Dean just brought it up. Did you bother to read his post before that? He asked and I answered!

Ok one more thing then.....I didn't mention a darn thing about where I take my vacations, that's YOU talking. I don't feel the need to mention every little luxury I have but apparently you do. You know that old saying about how people who talk a lot about sex aren't really getting any? Well, that applies to money too. And yes I did read Dean's post, and was responding to your rude comment.
Once again, Lady O. outtie, cause the mods are gonna close this soon anyway. :thumbsup2

I agree...Time to just let it drop before she shares with us her bank balance.

There was nothing rude about my comment to Deans post. He remarked that "Smarter people" haggled. I remarked back that I pay cash and am too smart for car payments. You mentioned going other places more interesting. So do I. Really, I have never seen more insecure people in my life. :confused3 I'm done!

How valuable can your time really be when you are continuously trolling these DDP threads, when you aren't even on the dining plan!!! :lmao:

What on earth do payments have to do with price? Nobody asked you how you paid for your cars.
