Hi All....

I was curious to know if you can order Take Out from Disney Restaurants? :confused3 We're going in a few months and our kids tend to go to bed early at night (6:30 or so) and my wife and I will be stuck in the hotel room for the rest of the night. We'll have a rental car and I was wondering if it was possible to do takeout from the restaurants along the Boardwalk or ones at Disney Hotels? Also, if it is possible, can you use your Disney Dining Plan to pay for these?

Any info would be great!!! :)

Thanks!!

Disney restaurants aren't set up for "To Go" or take out, so unfortunately you'll be limited to off site places that deliver to your room.

Another option is to schedule an early dinner, let the kids eat, and have them box up your meal to take back to your room to enjoy.

Uggh...that's such a dissapointment. I was so hoping to have some good food while we were staying at ASMu, ohh well.....

Thanks for the info!! :)

When we stayed at BW resort we got take out food several times at Big River and also at the ESPN restaurant. The food was hot and fresh and didn't take too long to get. This was a few years ago so I don't know if they still do this or not. Not sure about the dining plan though because we weren't using it on that trip. HTH

I was able to take food back to my room at POP. So you should be able to do so too. I've seen others take food to their rooms. Granted, this is the resort's food court food. Not from any of the park restaurants (that I know of anyways... ).

You are absolutely right, and I should have qualified that.

The issue isn't having food in your room, it's that TS restaurants aren't set up for to-go.

CS isn't an issue at all.

Do you happen to know if the restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin accept Take Out / To Go orders?

Thanks!!! :)

My DW and I were just at the River Grill last month for dinner and I can remember serveral people coming in picking up "to go orders". I'm not sure if you can any of the beer from the brewrey to go.

Do you have a family suite or two rooms? There is no balcony and those rooms are quite small. Do you plan on eating in the dark?

We have one room, however our kids will sleep through about anything. We've traveled together before and have had the lights on low and the tv on in the room while they are sleeping and have not had any issues. I'm hoping that they will stay up a little later than normal and it won't be an issue as we will probably be tired and will want to go to bed as well. We've discussed having a suite or adjoining rooms but the $$ at this point it a bit too much.

Trail's End has a to go area, as I understand it. I would imagine Kona Sushi bar could be put in a take out container, but The restaurants are not set up for take out. At slow times they might be willing, but you could not count on this. The counter service places do have some containers for taking food with you.

I ordered "To Go" from Beaches and Cream back in "06" and they were accomodating...with "To Go" styrofoam containers and what not...

You will also have Room Service.

Doesn't BW have a Kids area for babysitting where they could sleep and you could enjoy a "parents" evening dinner out at Yacht club or swan?

Just thinking...

PS: I have packed paper plates and paper towels as of late...learned from many different scenarios ...the latest of which..ordering teens pizza so we could eat dinner at Captains Grille...as a "night out"...

The only Room Service at the Values is the Pizza delivery.
OP How about a nice TS meal a lunch time while the kids are still happy. Then you could have a Food Court meal in your room in the evening,

There's always room service (depending on where you are staying). Or I would go with earlier dinners, and just get something from the food courts to bring to the room later.

Why not do your big meal/TS meal at lunch instead of dinner and grab your CS at night?

If memory serves, TS take-out went away around the time the DDP came into play. I seem to remember issues with people only wanting to be charged a CS meal if they were not actually sitting in the restaurant to dine.

I disagree with the philosophy that they are not "set up" to accommodate take-out. If you have to-go boxes for left overs (which they all do) then you are set up for take-out. :confused3 They just choose not to.

I was staying in a cabin at FW earlier this month. We were on the DDP. DH was having some back pain the day we went to MK. He decided to stay back at the cabin. He asked me to bring him back a salad from Columbia Harbour House. I went in and asked them for a salad to go, they told me they were not able to give me a salad in a container with a top.:confused3

I wound up taking the boat to WL and got him a sald to go at Roaring Forks instead.

I really don't get why they can't have to go containers at all CS. Even if they aren't used that often, just have some on hand and replenish them when needed.

I can never finish all of my meal when we are dining at Disney and get leftovers packed up to go. All the Epcot restaurants, Jikko and many of the other resort restaurants have containers to take home leftovers so I don't see why they couldn't accomodate a whole meal. Have fun! (And I bet the kids will stay up a little later than you expect.) Plus, if they can sleep through anyhting, have dinner at Epcot and let them crash in the stroller while you two enjoy the park!
