doubt we will be able to get reservations this late in the game, (1 month out) but I'm gonna try.

Looking for some place new to try. No characters, but no "weird" food either - ha.

We've done 50s prime time, Ohana's & Whispering Canyon - which we LOVED all 3 & if could snag one of those would do so in a heartbeat. We've also done the BBQ (fun too)

Are there any other fun places like those? or other recommendations?

Quite unexpected but one of my favorites now is Teppan Edo. DGD loves it and we celebrated her birthday there in 2014. Sci Fi is lots of fun and a favorite quick serve is Les Halles in France. Don't give up hope...DD just booked a trip (about 2 weeks ago) for July 7-13...she got EVERY reservation she wanted. Some times are odd but they'll gladly adjust their eating schedule. For breakfast, my favorite is Kona...best Pineapple Macadamia Pancakes in the world! :tink:

You really shouldn't have a problem getting most if not all of the ADR's you want. We booked a trip for Memorial weekend about 10 days out and got what we wanted no problem, one of which being 'Ohana at 6:30.

We had a blast at HDDR as well as SOA. The food is better at HDDR though.

Don't know how hard any of these might be to get, or if they would be enjoyable to you, but we enjoyed the Sci-Fi Dine-In theater in DHS, Rainforest Cafe' at either AK, or Disney Springs, as well as T-Rex at Disney springs (pretty much the same as Rainforest Cafe', just a little different theme to it).

At Epcot, we enjoyed (except for DS11 lol) the Biergarten in Germany, and although it does have characters, the Garden Grille in the Land pavilion was quite enjoyable too.

In Magic Kingdom, again, it has characters, but we love eating at Crystal Palace, and we also enjoy The Plaza. No entertainment, but the building is wonderful and beautiful, and quaint, and the view looking out over the castle is just amazing. Last year there was a tremendous lightning storm while we were eating, and it was actually amazing to watch it!

Download the MDE app and check it regularly for the locations and times you want. You might be surprised to learn that you can often snag even "impossible to get" reservations like BOG, Beaches and Cream, and 'Ohana the day before, or the day of, when you want to go there.

If you're looking for something "fun", then I agree with Robo, Hoop-Dee-Doo is a dinner show and it is a blast. It is a must do on our list.

Our favorite place to eat in general is Chefs De France. You don't have to order the Escargot since you're not looking for "weird food" :rotfl:but their baked macaroni and hot ham and cheese is delicious for lunch. We usually pair that with a nice white wine.

We liked Trail's End at Fort Wilderness. Very similar food style to Whispering Canyon.

what's SOA? & BOG?
Making a list to check out.
My youngest is 10 & she hasn't been since she was 6...so maybe I should pick up something kidish for her - she isn't into princesses much anymore

SOA=Spirit of Aloha
BOG=Be Our Guest

The Sci-Fi at Disney Hollywood is a very unique & fun place. The place is set up to look like a drive-in movie. They show old black & white B Movie clips. Your table looks like a car. Everyone should eat there at least once.

Another vote for Hoop dee doo. In my opinion nothing says Disney like a night at HDDR! We also do Trails End several times a trip. Great variety of food!

Raglan Road Disney Springs. Great food, we loved being seated close to the singers and dancers.

AK - Rainforest Café; Hollywood Studios - Mama Melrose or Sci - Fi; Epcot - Tepen Edo, San Angel Inn, La Hacienda de San Angel; Disney Springs - Raglan Road; Contemporary Resort - The Wave; Wilderness Lodge - Whispering Canyon Café; Poly - O'Hana; Magic Kingdom - Liberty Tree Tavern or Be Our Guest (Lunch or Supper)
