We are going next month (we will be there exactly one month from today!) and will joined by my former mother-in-law (my older kids' grandma) for a couple of days. She is from WA state originally but now lives in Arizona and misses really good seafood. She has put in a request that we go to a good seafood restaurant one night while there. Does anyone have any suggestions? It can be at the resort or even a few miles away in a neighboring town.

We will have three kids (who are generally good in restaurants as long as they are even slightly kid friendly) and my husband HATES seafood, so he will need an alternative food source, even if it's just your basic steak.

I know that I had seafood at Hooke's Point - maybe Halibut. (It was more than 2 years ago) My kids were welcome and they had a variety of items for non-seafood lovers.

They also serve seafood at Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney. I had blackened fish there & it was good.

There are other restaurants that serve both -- maybe Joe's Crab Shack? That is a very popular restaurant in this area.

There is a Joes Crab Shack on Harbor (not to far but you will want to drive) and a Red Lobster further down on Harbor (you have to drive down there). Both are chains.

Thanks, everyone! We ate at Joe's Crab Shack last time and I don't think she wanted to eat at a chain (same with Red Lobster.) She likes salmon, crab legs, and clams. I am wondering if something closer to the ocean would have what we are looking for (but Hooke's Point might work for her- same with the Jazz Kitchen.)

I think this is a chain restaurant but maybe for a cheaper lunch, I have heard that Mimi's has good shrimp spaghettini.

If you can drive a little ways, there is a really good seafood restaurant called Market Broiler at the Block at Orange, which is a nearby mall. You can look up Market Broiler on the internet and it gives the menu. We went a year ago and it was very good, not at all like Joe's Crab Shack, which we don't really like.

The Los Alamitos fish company has to be the best around. It's a bit of a drive but worth it. If you want something more like crab try the Crab Cooker in newport beach.

I agree with Luckey, The Fish Company is very good, better than Market Broiler.

Another restaurant to consider that my family enjoys is King's Fish House. There is a location somewhat near you at:
King's Fish House
1521 West Katella
Orange, CA 92867
714-771-6655

They're another chain restaurant but the food there is very good...

Hooke's Pointe had the BEST sea bass I've ever had! I'm not sure what other seafood they have, but this was wonderful.

If you get in, the Blue Bayou has some delicious crab cakes. The clam chowder is excellent, too, highly recommended.

Thanks, everyone! I think I found a place in Seal Beach- Walt's Warf. They have steamed clams, which was a requirement put forth by my daughter and her grandmother. We are going to Blue Bayou for lunch one day- so I will suggest the crab cakes.
