My husband and I will be at the World in three weeks for a 3 night stay at YC. We have a one day pass which we will use for Epcot. Where should we eat each night? Artist Point is on our list. We were also thinking of Yachtsman Steakhouse, but I have read a few mediocre reviews lately. We are adventurous and love all kinds of food. The only requirement is we would rather not do buffets this time around since it is just the two of us. (Loved Boma on our last trip though!) Thanks for any suggestions!

Jiko is our absolute favorite restaurant at Disney - I have a hard time tearing myself away to go to other places. It's generally quieter than some of the other restaurants, with excellent food, attentive service, and a fantastic wine list.

I've heard many, many good things about Citricos, but I haven't been so I can't comment.

Artist Point, we've been twice and never truly impressed. The service has been lacking, the food is never quite right. We could have just gone on two bad nights.

It is just my DH and me as well and we are very adventurous (adventuresome?) when it comes to food. We are leaving in 9 days for our next trip. :) We always stay around Epcot (BC, BCV, BWV and Swan) and the following are our favs:

We love Le Cellier in Canada and Le Chefs de France in France if you want to eat in Epcot. Also, we ate at Coral Reef for the first time last trip and my DH thought it was the best food he had had at WDW. Very relaxing.

We ate at California Grill (obviously not around Epcot) last time and thought it was awesome...great food and atmosphere. Have heard great things about bluezoo at the Dolphin and are thinking about trying that. If you are concerned about YS, you may think about Shula's at the Dolphin. We thought it was excellent and kind of clubby (if you like that). Kind of like a Joe's Steak and Stone Crab, if you've ever been to one of those.

We love snacking early at Kimono's in the Swan and then eating something late. Good sushi and japanese appetizers as well as Kirin beer!! :earsboy:

Not sure if you tried Jiko, but we loved it. Same sort of spices as Boma, but way more laid back. Banana Chocolate Bread pudding is to die for, and I don't usually eat bread pudding.

We (like the other poster) checked out AP. I thought it good, not great, but my DH wasn't that impressed. It's not on our "must do again" list.

I would probably pick out a bunch of choices, check the menus out at allearsnet.com and then go crazy!! Have fun whatever you choose!! I love all the choices at WDW!!

My favorites are: Victoria and Albert's - beautiful atmosphere, outstanding food, stellar wine list, superior and professional service, Norman's at the Ritz-Carlton - great dining room layout, it's circular!, "smart looking" staff, delicious food, nice view, California Grill - great for tapas and cocktails, go during the fireworks at MK.

I also was disappointed with Artist Point, service was very casual, and food could have been better. The wine list does feature some good selections from the Northwest.

Wow, I am really thankful for the opinions so far. We had decided on Artist Point only because we have stayed at WL twice and have never been able to do it with three kids in tow. Now I am seriously thinking of dropping it in favor of Jiko. When we went to Boma in July we could see inside Jiko and the intimate atmosphere (despite the large setting) is just what we are looking for.

Keep the opinions coming! I hadn't considered the Swan/Dolphin offerings, but we love sushi so I will check out Kimonos. Is there anyone here who can compare Shula's to Yachtsman Steakhouse?

The problem with asking for opinions is that everyone has one ;)

My wife and I recently ate at both Artist Point and Jiko's. We rated AP second behind Citricos of the Signature ones where we ate. We actually rated Jiko's last because we didn't particularly like the food (especially the appetizer sampler) although the deserts were good, this is a comment on taste and not quality of the food (very nice resturant and the service was excellent). We thought the food at AP was excellent and the service was excellent (we ate at 7:30 and there was a very light crowd when we were there).

Even thought Jiko's is the only one we would not go back to I would not discourage anyone from trying it if they think they would like it based on the menu. The only way that you will know if you like it is to try it.

We also ate at Yatchsman Steakhouse and while we did like it we rated it 5th out of the 7 Signature resturants where we ate. We would eat there again but it wasn't anything special.

inthe parks we loved Brown Derby ..it was good food, not rushed and very good service

LOL, Artist Point might just be back in the running! (Besides we would love to see WL again.)

I would love to try Brown Derby, but we will not be going into MGM this trip.

jw50, Would you please share the rest of your signature restaurant ratings in order? I have been curious about Citricos as well. What did you have a Citricos? How about at AP?

If I were at WDW without my kids, I would like to go to Jiko at AKL, Artist Point at WL, and Shula's Steakhouse at either the Swan or Dolphin. I've eaten at a Shula's in Virginia and it was outstanding. We have also eaten at Kona Cafe in the Poly and loved it. I would recommend the crab cake appetizer and the filet medallions over mashed potatoes any day. Wonderful desserts as well.

This was how we ranked them (strictly personal opinion and not to imply any of them were bad, this is just the order in which we liked them):

Citricos
Artist Point
Brown Derby
Cali Grill
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Coral Reef
Jiko - only because the food did not appeal to us, other than the deserts

At Citricos we had a veal and scallops dish that they had just added to the menu, we both thought it was excellent.

At AP my wife had the Salmon and I had the Hatfield Pork Chop.
