Thursday 12/23
Breakfast/lunch - CRT in the MK. This was the acclaimed Princess breakfast and our first time. We really, really enjoyed the food although our server was rather grumpy for some reason. With a nine year old who loves the princesses this was a nice way to start the second half of our trip. Grade B+
Cost $27 (again there are three of us and we have Disney Dining)
Dinner - Mara in the AKL. We switched over to AKL for the weekend. For several meals, I would go and get the food leaving dh and dd in the room to hang out and see the animals. This worked out well and we had several quiet meals this way. For dinner we had African chicken, fried shrimp, Mickey pasta, and the zebra dome/chocolate mousse dessert. All were good.
Grade B. Cost $25
Friday Christmas Eve
breakfast - I headed down to Mara and brought back two breakfast platters and a couple of donuts. Portions were huge and this was plenty of food for the three of us. It was good too. Grade B. Cost $18.
lunch - Mara again (slight pattern here). We had a typical grilled chicken, cheeseburgers, chicken finger lunch but again no complaints. The cost was $30 but only because we got two of the dessert packs for later.
dinner - Liberty Tree Tavern. This was our "Christmas dinner" and we weren't disappointed. We've been here before. The food is basically a standard turkey dinner but it's wonderful. All the characters came around quickly too which is nice. Grade A. Cost $68.
Saturday Christmas morning
breakfast - We had the first p.s. of the day at the Crystal Palace and had the incredible experience of little one being chef of the day. You can't ask for this - it just happened. It was incredible to have that happen on Christmas. Also, we've had two previous poor experiences with Crystal Palace for dinner. Breakfast was different. The food was just better in our opinion. Grade A++. Cost ? My notes get sketchy here.
lunch and dinner were both Mara and both were good.
We spent the rest of the trip relaxing at SSR. We ate four really good meals at the SSR food court thing. All were one step above fast food and both good and we had really, really nice people wait on us. My notes got sketchy at this point.
We did finish up with Ohana which has become a real favorite. We go for the food. The fried wontons in peanut sauce are my favorite thing to eat anywhere. My daughter and I love them and my husband loves all the meat. The shrimp were good this time too. We skip the pineapple dessert thing and mostly eat the appetizers and just a little meat.
Okay that's all...hope you enjoyed.
