Any special summer plans? going anywhere fun? Or just anything special?

We were going to the UK with our church but the trip got canceled due to some changes there.....we would have been working with a missionary hosting VBS.

Now we are looking at going to NYC for a few days and a trip to Florida. That is if we can work it around DH's new job schedule and all his drills/training with NG. They are gearing up for a deployment so have added lots of extra training this year.....between that, the school schedule, etc......it's proving to be rather difficult to plan.

At this point, no plans. May is going to be busy--we've got a First Communion & my Dad's 85th birthday--but the rest of the summer is open.

I hope to move over the summer.....preferably sooner, but late summer at the latest.
DLR for a few days in June.
That is all here. We tend to take vacations during off seasons.

We are going on a trip to the coast with my BIL, SIL, nephew and new baby nice/nephew who is due in 2 weeks time. We plan on doing a lot of house work over the summer, decorating our bedroom and finishing off the garden area around our pond. We are not planning a trip abroad this year as I am getting a new sports car instead of a trip. But we plan on doing lots of day trips to London to see lots of West End shows and we intend to use our annual pass a lot for Alton Towers, the UK's biggest theme park.

We are having a Staycation, and will be heading to Mayne Island next week for spring break here. Am saving for 2 trips to DL next year, the first one with the family, and the second one solo (YAHOO!!). I leave for the second trip for 6 weeks after we get back from trip #1, which is crazy, but it get's me away from the kids for 8 days. Want to give DH a taste of what I go through as a stay at home mom. No doubt chaos will reign while I'm gone. Hubby wants me to invest in a refurbished pinball machine instead, but with one being refurbished as we speek do we really need another one??

I took a week off just last month. Did not go anywhere but just ol' WDW. ;) :lmao: (Afternoon tea one day with a friend. And then it was ESPN Weekend.)
DH plans to be off an upcoming week -- but to paint the house. Not much of a vacation for him....
Star Wars Weekend is coming up. I have not seen the SW parade yet. Want to see that. And the best part for me is the Hyperspace Hoopla (Dancing with the SW Stars)! I hope they don't take that from me too. :rotfl2:
I am not a sports or SW fan. But I enjoy the special weekends. :yay:
AND --- The special summer stuff is coming to MK. We have never seen the Electrical Parade. Looking forward to that and the summer fireworks. JUNE 6! Just in time for my b-day. :cheer2:

Enjoy the parade, Barbara. It is my favorite.
We get to see it in April and then it will be gone all the rest of our planned trips :(

My DS is getting married in June and DD#2 is expecting her 4th baby that month also and DD#3 is expecting in August. These 3 events will keep me busy this summer.

Wow....Barbara, that does sound like it will keep you busy....with good things.

Has spring sprung for you? Are you getting nice weather now? Will your area still get a blast of winter?

What fun!! Makes me smile to read that. My grandparents were a big part of my life.

It's been near 70...I just don't know what to do with myself! :rotfl: I've got that spring cleaning itch...but I know it's too early. Jake wore shorts yesterday. I'm sure it'll get cold again, tho.

I hear we are getting nice weather in WA....it won't last :rotfl: Rain is coming, as usual.
We had a very mild winter though, so I can't complain.

Here is AZ it has been in the mid 80s. I think that is typical for this time of year here. I am enjoying it. Summers here is another story!!

Here I am trying to play catch-up

Do you like to bake? What is your favorite thing to bake?

I only bake for special events or holidays. If I bake regularly I would eat everything I bake, so I just done bake, that way it's not in my house.

What was the last movie you saw in a theater?
Are there any movies coming out that you are looking forward to?

I had a gift card, so my DH and I saw "Dear John". This movie wasn't my DH's first choice, but it was my gift card, so I got to pick. Most of the time we usually pick up movies at our local RedBox or through netflix.

What is the last sit down restaurant you ate at? What did you have?

We ate at "Charred Rib". They have the best baby back ribs, where the meat just falls off the bone.

Do you go to a salon to get your hair cut? Colored?
Do you always go to the same person?

Most of the time I go to the "Hair Cuttery". No, I just walk in and go with the next available person.

Any special summer plans? going anywhere fun? Or just anything special?

Our plans this summer is a trip to Cancun, Mexico and Myrtle Beach, SC. These trips are going to be different this year, only 1 of my sons will be traveling to Cancun with us and all 3 of them will be coming and going while we are in Myrtle Beach. I don't believe any of them will be staying the whole week. This is the first year, my sons won't be on vacation with us.

My DH and I will also be seeing "Mary Poppins" at the Kennedy Center for my birthday. Really looking forward to this show.

Has spring sprung for you? Are you getting nice weather now? Will your area still get a blast of winter?

The weather has been great this week, keeping my fingers cross that it stays this way. Tomorrow it's suppose to hit 70s. I'm hoping to be able to make it to the "Cherry Blossom Festival" in DC, which is to start in a couple of weeks.

Most of the snow has melted, except for some of the large mounds, it's taking longer for these to melt. I'm so glad we can finally see grass.

We really didn't have much of a winter here, other than having a dusting of snow in Dec. My daffodils are up and bloomin, although we have been known to have snow as late as Mid April, so you never know. It's sunny and cool in the mornings and warm in the afternoons. Hope the snows don't hit while we are travelling down to DL in Feb/11.
Have a great day everyone!

For us, it has been a cold winter. I don't mind it much at all, as I am more of a cold weather person than a hot/humid. I have always been more apt to hibernate in the summer than winter. And I LOVE not paying for AC. :worship: Even when it was cold, our electric bill was only at most $20 a month more. :thumbsup2 However we did not see Illuminations much this winter. (bbrrrr)

In August, I will stay indoors and complain.

I think spring is trying, its been warmer the past few days but still hasn't reached 60. And yes I could see getting another big snow before all is said and done.
