Grocery shopping....do you always go to the same store? Do you shop the ads or just go get what you want at the closest place? Do you shop with a list?

I will go between Martins and BJs. I usually stock up and shop at BJs when the boys are home, they eat so much. When it's just DH and myself I mostly shop at Martins every couple of weeks. I should shop with a list but don't, I try to shop by memory. Most of the time, I can remember what I need, but sometimes I tend to forget, that's where a list would come in handy.

I go to Costco every 2 weeks
And use 2 stores in town for in between shopping.....Safeway and Haggens. I do shop for things from their ads.
I do go with a list....I have lists for everything

I love grocery shopping! I go to a local supermarket--Waldbaum's--at least once a week. I shop the specials, use a list & coupons. Since dad is retired, he does the shopping at Costco (weekdays are less busy), King Kullen, etc. He just shops the specials at the stores, I do the bulk of the shopping. In fact, I am off to Waldbaum's now--if I spend $50 (a piece of cake), I can get a spiral sliced ham for 79 cents a pound! Last week, the special was corned beef for $1.49 a pound--that's tonight's dinner.

We don't have much in the way of grocery stores here. :confused3 There is a Super Target 10 minutes away. But they are not that easy to get in and out.
A Walmart maybe 10 -15 minutes away. Again, a pain to shop in. And even more so than Target.
So we just stick to our local Publix.
Omaha was different. Grocery stores all over, and quite the variety of them. Not here... At least near us.
I am not the grocery shopper though. DH almost always does that.
I only buy what is on a short list, and I am in and out.
DH is the dawdler. He complains when I go because he says we still don't have anything. :rotfl2:

I go to the same store all the time, I hate go to multipal stores for different items. Of course I probably pay a little more, but I use coupons whenever I can.

If you were to send someone a food item(s) from the area you live, what would you send?

I do send food items sometimes. :lmao:Oranges and other citrus to the mid section of the country.

Salmon, coffee, Aplets and Cotlets, Almond Roca are things from around me, but most are available everywhere, so never sure just what to send.

Well you can pretty much get anything anywhere, right? But things made here that I might have more of a selection then say someone out west.

Hershey chocolate

Peeps

Tastykakes

Snyder's of Hanover pretzles

We don't have Tastykakes here......everything else you mentioned, yes.
but that is how it goes.

I wonder what we have that you guys don't??

Tim Hortons donuts and coffee (or as we call it Tim Horribles!!), cranberries, salmon, and maple syrup (although it's Canadian EH!).

When was the last time you flew somewhere? Where did you go? When will you fly again? What is the longest flight you have been on?

Orlando, Dec. 2008. I hope I'm getting on a plane sometime this year. the longest flight was Newark, NJ to Anchorage, alaska--something like 12 hrs.

I was last on a plane march 12 coming here to AZ.
Next is today going back to WA.
Then on April 11 we fly to the Anaheim area to go to DLR :yay:

The longest (so far) has been from WA to Orlando when there were layovers. Those take about 8 hours. The nonstops take 5 1/2-6. Those we do all the time.
But I am going to Barcelona in Sept.....not sure of the stops and such yet. So that will be the longest.

Last time on a plane Nov. 2009 to Orlando, next time on a plane Nov. 2010 to Orlando. The longest I have flown was California to Pennsylvania, but I don't remember the trip I was four.

The last flight I took was from Orlando to Manchester, England last August (an 8 hour flight). The longest flight I have taken was London Heathrow to Los Angeles which was 12 1/2 hours, although we are planning a trip to Australia at the moment which will be London to Sydney (via Hong Kong for more fuel) which will be 25 hours!!!!

I have never been anywhere in an airplane. Nope - Never!
I toured a NOAA weather plane once but it was quite stationary on the ground!!
The closest thing to flying I get is Soarin and Peter Pan's flight!! :rotfl2:
