Restaurant reviews and recipes...formerly Disney QOTD

Jean, those photos are great! Your family is very good looking. And I love the picture of you with the Prince. I've never had my picture taken with a prince--I've got pictures of me with Donald, Tigger, Mickey....so someday I want to pose with a prince! :lmao:

Thanks Missy!!
We went to the princess dinner at the GF and I just had to have my photo take with the prince.

Do you watch the movies in the Epcot countries that have them?
Which ones have you seen? Which was "once" was enough?
Which do you recommend, if any?

I've seen the one in Canada and the one in France. Only once, probably should see them both again as it has been years. :)

Norway a few times...now we bypass it after the ride.
France and China once. Good to do it there is time.
Not Canada.....not sure why, maybe because we live so close.

Have not seen any, the most we do is walk around the showcase, stopping at a few stores.

The movie that we watch the least is China, but for something to do on NYE, we saw it again last year and we spent a fair amount of time in the pavillion, and found it very interesting. We've probably seen it three times altogether, but it's been added on and tweaked since the very beginning of Epcot, so if you haven't seen it since Epcot opened, it's worth seeing again.

We watch France at least once every visit, sometimes twice. I love the music. We see the Canada movie at least once a year, I love visiting Canada, Nova Scotia, Vancouver, Victoria, the Canadian Rockies, these are all highlighted in the movie, I think it's a treat. Now about, Martin Short?, well, he's corney, but I'll groan, grin and bear his jokes to see Canada. I like the music too, again, I prefer the original, but I'll take what's offered, too. Norway has the movie that "sold" us on going to Norway, we thought the fjords were just gorgeous in the movie and in real life, they were even better. This year we visited Oslo, and we've seen the movie once so far this year.

We go to the US Pavillion's show at least 3 times a year. We enjoy the shows in Epcot, I guess that's pretty obvious.:woohoo: I would love to see more movies!

Bobbi:goodvibes

We have seen all the countries movies but really only go in to see them to cool off out of the heat!!

Let's talk packing for a Disney trip.
Are you a light packer? Carry on only?
Pack a lot....you never know what you will need?

What are your must have items to pack for a Disney trip?

Seen as we come for 2 weeks we can't do carry on. I have to admit I do tend to overpack!! It is worse when it comes to a christmas trip though as we have to pack for hot and cold weather. On our next Christmas trip we are eating at Victoria and Alberts so DH will need his suit and I need to pack a nice dress too!! Oh and our usual airline has just reduced the luggage limit! Although you can pay $20 to take a 2nd case, I guess I'll have to do that on the return journey (We usually pack a small case inside a big case so we have a spare to bring back all the things we buy when we are out there!!)

My must have items are:
Crocs - Mary Jane style in 2 or 3 colours plus crocs flip flops.
Other comfy shoes.
T shirts, vest tops, shorts and trousers.
A couple of nicer outfits for the signature restaurants.
laptop, cables, camera and spare lenses.
Rain jacket - I can't stand the poncho things!
Sat nav for hire car.
Disney pins.
First aid bag.

I was 10 but that was only to DRP on a school trip (the only reason I went was to go to Disney). Then I was 18 when I went to WDW...and so the obsession grew!!
Can't go anywhere else now!

I am an overpacker.
Can't go anywhere with carry on only.
I pay the bag charge.
Never know my mood for clothes.
Disney is the usual clothes, plus rain ponchos, umbrella, water bottle with filter, sling bag, crocs.....scutes, a couple pairs, camera and battery charger, sunglasses, computer for DVC rooms, cereal and snacks.

When we went in Oct, we all had our carry-ons with our clothes, no problem. Trouble was all the OTHER stuff we needed to bring and/or CHECK - since some items can not be carried on. So, we ended up with 2 carry-ons each, this included our personal items (purse/backpack/laptop, etc., plus our clothes bag) and then ONE large checked bag that had the OTHER stuff. I just do not see how to UNDERPACK for WDW! I take travel size/sample size of as many toiletries as I can, I pack the least amount of clothes, I THINK anyway  , and I even pack less than needed because I know we'll ALL buy a t-shirt of some sort at some point. Always pack a collapsible bring-home bag, too. :thumbsup2 It was probably the best-packed job I've ever done, but we learn from experience, right? ;) It's taken me YEARS and many trips. :thumbsup2 I want to keep LEARNING! :woohoo:

We never do carry-on only, but could if we had to. My suitcase this last trip was only 35 lbs, and the case is a hard-side Samsonite.

I always carry a few pair of shorts (for me) unless of course the trip is say in May, then I carry nothing but shorts.

Must have items:
tissues
chapstick
extra pair of shoes
John insists on umbrellas

I pack for about 4 days and do laundry, since there are full size washer/dryers in the villas. The kids each have a backpack/carryon and I make them take their bathing suits, change of clothes, pjs and toothbrushes in them. (Bob had a suitcase go missing on a direct flight...never to be seen again! So, we're paranoid:lmao:) But, I do take along some of the food (poptarts, coffee, popcorn, snacks) so we still end up with 2 that we check.

The owner's lockers look better every year.

We only do carry ons, that way we can bypass the check-in counter and the baggage pick-up. When arriving at the airport we can go right to the security since we do check-ins at home. We pack light since we have a washer and dryer in our timeshare, and don't really pack any extras, we've been doing this for years and so far it's worked.

The last couple of times I've traveled with my sister and nieces to WDW we did check bags since we were using the Magical Express bus. It was nice not having to carry the bags through the airport. This was also before the airlines started charging for checked bags. Not sure what we'll do next time.

What kind of bag do you carry around in the parks....and what are the essentials that you take into the parks with you?

I use a (gasp!) fanny pack. I can fit my basics in there: camera (it's small), wallet, sunglass, hand wipes....and my arms are free. I know they're not fashionable, but they work for me.
