Restaurant reviews and recipes...formerly Disney QOTD

WDW: Longest stay 14 nights, shortest 10 nights.
DL: Only been once, 5 nights.
DLRP: Longest stay 7 nights (but we did go into Paris for a few days too), shortest stay 2 nights (that was a free trip due to a competition win, we usually stay for 3 or 4 nights there.)

QOTD.....10/17

Have you ever been stuck on a ride? Which one and for how long?

We were stuck on Spaceship Earth once for about 15 minutes.

We got stuck on EE for about 20 minutes....up high where the track is broken away.
Great view!! It was the highlight of the trip for DH.....we got taken off and walked down inside the mountain. It was great.

We have also been stuck on TT for about 10 minutes....outside, right before going back into the building.

Other times.....things broke down or there have been medical emergencies that closed the ride while we were in line.

We have been stuck on rides at other theme parks but never at a Disney park.

Not really stuck, just waiting for them to load the people who need extra help.

Spaceship Earth and Haunted Mansion are the only 2 that I remember.

We were on Toy Story Mania when Andy came home. We were really in the best possible position, we just finished the arcade games, but we all got free Fast Passes anyway!

In a way, this just made up for the time when my DCuz and I waited in line for over an hour when Andy came home. That time, we were just turned around and led out because were weren't in the ride area, we were by where the glasses were handed out, we didn't get anything. That was a bummer.

Bobbi:goodvibes

I can remember once....before FPs, DD and I had waited over an hour for Splash Mountain. We were just headed up the stairs, when it broke down. And wasn't expected back up any time soon :( So sad.

At DLR we were inside the mountain (again Splash Mountain) and could see through the "windows" to the loading area when they had a medical emergency and everyone had to leave :( We did see a man laying on the ground  Never heard what happened. (think heart attack)

Never have been stuck on a ride at WDW but have been twice at DL. We were stuck for over 30 minutes on Pirates and another time (to DH's horror:scared1:) we were stuck for about 20 minutes on It's a Small World. He said he had that song stuck in his head for days after!!

I don't find any boring, especially since John and I like the slow rides.

For me it is Space Mountain at WDW. After riding the one at Disneyland Paris 1st (looping launch coaster similar to RnRC) I came off the one at WDW highly underwhelmed. Even though the one at Disneyland doesn't go upside down it is a good ride, I'm glad I tried it there, but at WDW I won't bother again.

Maelstrom...I really thought this was going to be a high thrill ride. I was disappointed. :confused3

QOTD.....10/19

What is the longest you have waited for a ride? Before fast pass and since fast pass.
What is the longest you are willing to wait for a ride?

My wait times depend on the ride...and where the que is. We'll usually get fast passes for the rides where the que is outside. (ie we fast pass Peter Pan, but we'll wait at Philamagic since the wait is inside in A/C.) If I don't have a fast pass, I don't wait for a ride.

I only did one trip without fast pass, but it was also a trip with 2 2 /12 yr old boys (the now 18 yr old college freshmen!), so we really didn't do anything with long waits. Plus we were there in October in the days when there truly was a difference between peak season & off season, so we wouldn't have had to wait long anyway. I do remember walking on Space Mountain--no wait at all.

I see everybody's tickers from Mickey Path aren't working. Must be a problem with them.

from the site:
10/19/09 - Sorry for teh down time, but we are aware of the current issues with the banners and are workign to get it fixed ASAP. Sorry for the Delay.

We had many. many trips before fast pass, so we did wait for things.
But many years ago the waits weren't long unless it was something new.
And you didn't need ADRs ;)

We waited over an hour for Splash Mt. at WDW....DD's favorite ride. (and the it broke down).
I remember when Star Tours first opened at DL...their was a 3 hour wait!!
I won't wait more than about 20 minutes in a stand-by line.

You know, as much as I love the DDP, I hate that you need ADRs. We had so much fun deciding where to eat the day we went to the park!
