I buy pins and christmas decorations. I like to get a decoration with the year on and the name of the resort I stayed at. We usually buy some sort of art work too and maybe a garden orniment, wind chime etc. I think my favourite thing I own are my bell christmas decorations from WDW, Paris and DL. I like that I have the matching ones from each destination. They have the parks castle on the top and Tink inside. My DH loves his big villains snow globe he got from Paris at Halloween. There are bats inside instead of snow and the characters eyes glow orange.

I think my overall favourite Disney item is my rocking chair. My friend bought it for my birthday present and had to have it shipped over. It has Mickey on the back of it.

What are your favorite type of souvenirs to buy?
What is your very favorite one that you own?

I usually purchase Christmas ornaments, magnets, pins, t-shirt or sweatshirt, mugs and sometimes I pick up the item that they reduce in price when you spend so much money. I picked up a Mickey and Minnie throw last January, and a tote bag they year before.

My favorite one is usually the Christmas ornaments. Every year when we decorate the tree, my many ornaments remind us of all our memories while on that trip.

I like Pop, but I would be willing to share so I could go to a moderate. I've only been to Dixie Landings (when it was still called that), and I did really love it there. Plus, you're close to DTD, one of my favorite parts of WDW.

like to stay longer because it is so far, but could always just stay longer than any "official" meet time.

Not sure if I could get away with going by myself though....could if I added DD or BFF or DH, of course....but who knows.

I think people should be able to bring others a long. It is hard to travel alone. Especially if you want to stay longer....and for those traveling solo, like Missy, I'm sure room mates could also be arranged.

I think a meet should be flexible--we can meet for a meal or two, but the rest of the time we could be with family or friends. I don't mind traveling alone, I do it all the time. If we stay at different resorts, I don't mind being alone at POP or the All-Stars. I did a solo trip in 2005, I had a good time. But it would be nice to be able to meet you guys, have a meal and that way I have adult conversation for a little while! When I did my solo trip, by the end, I was talking to anyone who would start a conversation with me!

I think that is the way most of the meets are set up.....not a 24/7 type thing.
But I do know they also arrange room sharing if people are interested.

Then do a character meal, a breakfast, a party if one is going on at the time, maybe a tour and maybe meet for a couple other outings....like SHOPPING at DTD

I went to a meet a few years ago...a few of the people who went didn't get that--they were expecting to do everything with everybody, like we were a tour group or something. They wanted 24/7 excitement & meets. Most of us just wanted to go to WDW. It made for some unpleasant posts when we got back....

ohhh...that's not good.
When I went to a meet in Chicago, we all stayed in the same motel, but did things with family or small groups. And then did a big meet (with other local DIS people) at a restaurant. It was a lot of fun.

At WDW, I have only met up with people for specific things for a few hours.

Seen as I am a teacher in England and have to travel in school holidays when flights cost about $1200 per person I think a meet would be out for me!

Any more input on this QOTD??.....we only had 4 people wanting to do it.

I will do a poll in a month or so. DVC can make home ressies 11 months ahead, so it would be nice to get a general idea and start saving the $$$

Can't do it this year either.
Not even sure about next year.....have the cruise in Sept and DLR in Oct....and no points until 2011, but can borrow.
We'll see how the next couple of months play out and what everyone else can do.

I'm not sure about next year. I do know I want to go in 2011--I turn 50 that May so I want to celebrate my 50th year in WDW!

Maybe my house will actually be sold by then

I would have DVC points again too,......well OKW ones.

I will try to remember to bring it up again next summer.....ohhh, that does sound like so long
