Restaurant reviews and recipes...formerly Disney QOTD

:woohoo: Maybe 5 of us then......if it happens sounds like Nov or Dec. 2011.

QOTD 9-10

What is your favorite thing to do at DTD (besides shopping ;) )?

Just walk around and then grab ice cream from Ghirardelli.

We get caramel apples w/nuts and sit by the water and just watch. I also like watching the little kids play in the water jets by one of the entrances. They are so cute. :thumbsup2

I'm telling you, the more we talk about these things the less likely I'm gonna be able to wait till 2011 to go. ;)

Maybe 2011 would work best for everyone....that is SO long away though :rotfl:
Maybe my house will actually be sold by then

I would have DVC points again too,......well OKW ones.

I will try to remember to bring it up again next summer.....ohhh, that does sound like so long

yeah, it is long....but time flies.

I know! I've been having dreams about being at WDW the last few nights. I wake up a bit disappointed!

QOTD 9-9

If there were to be an exchangers meet planned, would you go?
What time of year would be best?
How long would you want to stay?
What resort would you want the main grouping to be located at?

Edited to add:

Families? or exchangers only?
If solo, would you want to share a room?

How did I miss this one, I haven't been on much the last couple of days.

Yes, Yes, Yes, I would attend and I'll probably bring as many from the family that can come in between college schedules.

Early Dec for the Christmas decorations or Jan
I would use my DVC pts - BLT, BCV or OKW

Completely understandable, Karen.

Any more input on this QOTD??.....we only had 4 people wanting to do it.

I'm all for it....now when??

Nov. 2010
Dec. 2010
Jan. 2011
Nov. 2011
Dec. 2011

I will do a poll in a month or so. DVC can make home ressies 11 months ahead, so it would be nice to get a general idea and start saving the $$$ ;)

I vote for either Dec. 2010 or Jan. 2011. I have been already looking into Jan, 2011 but I can move it forward to Dec, 2010 and just have my DH and I attend. The boys will all be in college in Dec, they have the month of Jan off, so they will just have to stay home.

I need to start reading all the posting at once before responding.

I can also do Dec 2011 - lots of time to plan and save $$$ for the trip.

Sounds like fun, can't wait.

I better get off this computer, or else I'll be late for work. I'll check in this evening.

:woohoo: Glad to have Jean want to join in our meet :)

Yes it is a long time, leaves a long time to save plenty of $$ and dream a lot.

I did get to book DH a short stay last night. He will be in the area for business, so decided to spend the weekend at Disney instead of flying home before heading out again.
Even got one of his dining choices. He is calling today for the other.

We like to wonder around DTD too.
WE do like to eat at HoB
And we love the boat from DTD to the resorts....any of them, doesn't matter, but to OKW works best for us these days ;)

WOW, I wuld love to meet Nancy & Jean & make dome new Dis friends!

My favorite DTD is Ghirardelli hot fudge sundae with extra hot fudge!

:woohoo: Another interested in our meet :yay:

That makes:
me, Missy, Trish, Heidi, Jean and now Maria. I am keeping a list ;)

We'll get planning next year about this time :yay: I LOVE planning ;)

I am so envious you are planning a meet!!

We will be there for Christmas and New Year 2010/11 staying at the BCV for 2 weeks (well minus the 2 nights we are staying at universal for so we can go to see the new Harry Potter world.) We are going with our best friends which I am excited about, I love going to WDW with them.

In 2011 though we are saving for a trip to Australia. I am so excited about that, we have never been but I have family out there and my BIL's whole family live there too. Plus thanks to all our trips to the USA and collecting airmiles we have enough points to upgrade seats, great for a 25 hour flight!!

So the QOTD: At DTD we love going up in the Characters in flight balloon, the views are amazing (although I have to say I do prefer the one in Paris as is it closer to the parks and you can see the Eiffel Tower from the top.) We also like to go to Disney Quest and do the design your own rollercoaster and then ride it. We always choose the extreme options and build one with 8 or 9 loops and upside down parts!!

Does sound like some good times coming for you, Karen.
Gotta love those air miles. We get to fly first class in 10 days to Orlando because of them :yay:
I can't even imagine a 25 hour flight :faint: It is all I can do to survive the 6 hours one.
I do have a flight from Seattle to Barcelona in 2010, not sure yet how I will be dealing with that!!

I love planning also, this is going to be such a great time. Let's make sure we center in on a date 11 months out especially if we're going to do the meet in early December. Early December is a busy time for DVC members making reservations on pts.

At DTD, we usually walk around, sit and people watch and shop than do our ice cream lunch at Ghirardelli. The boys have done Disney Quest but I've never gone in, this has always been a fun day for the boys.

Having done a few 11 1/2 to LA/Las Vegas the 8 hour one to Orlando last month was a breeze! UK to Orlando actually seems like short haul to me now! Having said that 25 hours I am not looking forward to. 1st class is nice, how long is your flight from Barcelona (lovely city BTW) to Seattle?

I'm not sure how long the flight is or how many stops we make
We are booked through Disney and don't get the paper work for quite a while still. The cruise is Sept. 2010.....TA said paper work 90 days ahead.
DH travels to Asia and India quite often so he is used to the long flights, me NO. I don't care for flying, can't sleep on planes and can sometimes get air sick, as well as having issues with my ears on take off and landing, soooo......any are too long. ;)

Jean, for sure 11 months out!! You bet!
I think we can set the dates in about a year. That seems so far away!! But it will go by quickly. Let's hope I can be busy moving for part of it!! ::yes::
