Don't you love BCV, TwingleMum?
Sadly we didn't make it to Napa Rose....again! We had planned on dining there when we were out here last year too. Oh, well we'll just have to come back.
As for Ariel's, this son is almost 25 but has Down's Syndrome. We had stopped going to character meals perhaps 12 years ago but when CRT lunch became a character meal we discovered how much he still loves the characters. So now I'll always try to get him to one even if it is just the two of us. But anyway, the princesses were fine. My son had the penne pasta which is in a creamy tomato sauce. My husband had a taste and said it was good. Our son loved it. My husband had the shrimp cobb salad which he enjoyed. The lettuce was different though....maybe endive. Sorry I can't recall. He enjoys all types of greens but would have preferred the traditional lettuce in this dish. I had the salmon BLT. I didn't care for it at all. I'm not a big salmon fan (except now for the salmon salad at Cafe Orleans

) and this piece tasted really fishy to me. The roll was too hard and the bacon too soft. The spicy sauce just didn't do it for me. So I would choose differently next time. Our son scarfed up my salmon though.
We did go back to Cafe Orleans for lunch today. Both my son and I had the salmon salad. It is just so good!!! Today the pecans were rolled in sugar and there were a few grapes in it as well...don't remember those the other day. The salmon is fresh, moist, flaky and delicious. All the flavors of the sald blend so well.
The Pomme Frites there are very good as well. They are tossed in parmesan, garlic and parsley. My DH rarely eats fries and he loved these...well we all did. It is a good sized basket with plenty for three of us. It is served with a tasty and slightly spicy remoulade but we also asked for ketchup for our son.
Oh, we didn't have the bananas foster at Ralph Brennan's...in fact no desserts at all. Sorry.
