I am very curious about restaurant reservations....are they necessary? I've only stayed at Disney before and I know they are there, because restaurants book up fast. We will be staying on site so we will have our "FOTL" but was wondering if it is really better to book in advance. I have heard that Universal is a lot less stressful than Disney and the need to book is not usually recommended. IS THIS TRUE? :confused3 Just needing some good advice from some of you regulars out there. Thanks so much!:flower3:

Reservations are usually not necessary. We usually go in Aug. and for the past few years have called the week or so before and made a reservation for Margaritaville. You can call from your hotel room in the morning to the booth in City Walk and make a priority seating reservation if you want. Also, in reading the material in our rooms at the HRH it said that if you showed your room key at some of the restaurants in City Walk Mon-Thurs it would give you instant priority for a table.

Thank you so much!:cool1: We are leaving next Saturday and will be staying march 28-april 1. I was freaking out a little since I hadn't made any reservations. With Disney you almost have to do it 90 days out to get exactly what you want.

Universal is a lot more laid back than Disney and if you wanted to make reservations, there is a kiosk at CityWalk across from the theater. Just stop in there on your way in.

It depends on where you want to eat. If you want to eat at Emerils at City Walk or Tchoup Chop at the Royal Pacific for dinner, I would make reservations at opentable.com

I don't think I've ever made a reservation. Longest wait I recall was about 15 minutes. Typically no you don't need them, now if you want to go to Emerils or something at a time you know its going to be packed, it may be a good idea.
