Hi,

I have pre-booked a character evening meal at Cafe Mickey and a Tea Party directly with my tour operator. I rang the restaurant reservations line tonight to book the times that we wanted.

Can anyone explain how it all works?

They didn't need my Disney reservation number, how do they know that we have already paid? How do the hotel know that we have already booked times? They said they have nothing to do with Disney reservations.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have never booked meals via a tour operator, so not sure how that bit works. But what usually happens is I'll call up the restaurant reservations number, tell them when/where/what time I want to eat, they take my name & mobile number.. and that's it. We don't pay anything beforehand and they don't ask which hotel you're staying at etc. It's just a restaurant reservation. It used to be that they gave out a reference number but they don't do it anymore.

HTH.

Your CM was right MeganOliver - the 2 departments have nothing to do with each other.

You call Dining Reservations to book the dates and times of the meals you want to reserve in advance.

When you check into your hotel, you will get your vouchers for the meals you have already paid for in advance (the tea party and Cafe Mickey meal). You take those vouchers with you and give them to your waiter once you are seated in the restaurant. You should only need to give your family surname (the name you reserve the tables under) to the CM when you arrive at the restaurants you have booked.
