We tried it during our last trip, just for the experience.
It was all right. I don't think I'll be going back, but it wasn't the worst thing I've ever eaten.
The place was nearly empty when we were there. There was a musician the whole time, and a dancer came out and did a short set. It was mildly entertaining, but nothing that I'd go there to see specifically.
We ordered iced mint tea and we were offered bread. Both were excellent.
We had the beef brewat rolls and chicken bastillas for appetizers. I strongly disliked the beef--it was eggy and I didn't enjoy the spices. I loved the chicken. DH had the Sultan Sampler and I had the chicken couscous. It turns out, I don't much care for couscous. I didn't enjoy the texture or the spices and I found the whole entree, chicken included, to be dry. It needed some oil or sauce to moisten it and add flavor. DH thought his entree was fine--not great but not inedible.
For dessert, I got the pastries. They were very, very sweet but interesting to try. DH got a lovely fruit salad with an impressive variety of fresh fruits. They did quite a good job on that one.
The service was friendly and attentive. The room was very intricately designed and decorated, which was enjoyable to look at.
It wasn't a terrible experience by any means, and I'm glad I tried it, just so I can say I've tried everything. But I can't think of any compelling reason to go back, especially with so many other places I know I love.
