What would be a great, fun, Disney restaurant for a large group? 8 adults and 4 kids (ages 7 to 17). Most adults are big kids themselves and love to raise heck and have a good time. ;) Several of them first timers to disney world so I'm looking for something fun and "disney special" if that makes sense. I'm thinking maybe WCC or Ohana. Or maybe LTT, except I don't know how many character we will have encountered with the grand gathering events and don't want to OD everyone on the characters.

So far we are planning;

Grand gathering safari and Illuminations
HDD
and maybe the Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package, although I wonder if it would be better to skip the package and do 50s PT, and just go early for Fantastmic.

Thanks in advance!

I suggest Raglan Road. Make your ressies for about 8pm, Mon. to Sat. and you will get the entertainment. Restaurant is a lot of fun and food is really good!

If you are going in a slower time you can skip the package for fantasmic. You still will have to get there about 45 minutes early, but it will not fill right away like it does during peak season - In peak people start lining up 2 hours before the show!

We are going with 9 of us in a couple of weeks. Keep in mind with large parties a lot of restaurants may have to split the party into 2 tables. When making ADRs the CM will tell you that.
They will sit you as close together as possible and in some restaurants they will be willing to push the table together if they can.

We have ressies for Ohana, Whispering Canyon for the interaction. Then we made two character meals - Chef Mickeys and Crystal Palace (Is it possible to OD on characters? :) )
We also have Teppan Eko (if it opens in time) which seats 8 people together on their cooktop tables - we thought it would be fun (one of us will be heading home early so we can all sit together).
And California Grill - my choice to celebrate my birthday night there.

We had 12 last time we were in WDW also. We went to the following, and were well accomodated each time. Mama Melrose, Chef Mickeys, WCC, Boma, Crystal Palace, Le Cellier, 'Ohana, Kona Cafe and Coral Reef (Although the table for 12 they put us at realistically only fit 10, and we had 2 small children, and we are not big people. We put my parents a a table for 2 across from us, it was their anniversary anyway)

We were told this also, but when we arrived we were always seated at one large table together.

Raglan Road is great. (lunch or dinner)
Biergarten in Germany. (lunch or dinner)
El Mulino..just great food new at the Swan. (dinner)
Garden Grove at Swan (breakfast..fantastic buffet)
Artist Point at WL (dinner)
Jiko at AKL (dinner)
CA Grill at Contemporary (dinner)

There are so many great places to eat..just depends on what you like.

Thanks for the advice everyone! Raglan Road sounds interesting. Would it be okay for the kids? I don't mind being split up as long as we're close to each other.

I'm leaning toward Ohana because I would love to introduce my cousin to the Lapu Lapu! But am wanting to be sure everyone would enjoy the food. At WCC everyone orders their own entree so that a plus (we will be on the DDP). Raglan Road sounds like fun too.....

ARG! Was anyone else the planner for a large group? Nobody in my group is really picky and we've travelled together before (and had a reeeaaally bad meal experience before) and it just became a funny memory, so the only pressure is coming from myself, but ARG!pirate:
