Anyone ever use the coupons from Restaurant.com in the Orlando area?

What is the best place to use them or YOUR best deal?

They are 80% off right now (just about free).

I have used them from other areas and they have been good and bad. You have to really read the restrictions and limitations. Sometimes they are just not worth the trouble. YOUR thoughts??

Another tip is to read reviews of the restaurant before you buy the certificate. I bought a few that were local and when I went to read reviews, 2 places had decent reviews and 3 of them had terrible reviews!

There a few Disney places in the search as well as House of Blues. I am going to try to use that one in October. Normally we love the site.

Here are some:
Zip Code 32830
-House Of Blues
-Garden Grove (Character Dinning)
-Quite A Few At The Swan & Dolphin
-Sleuth's Mystery Dinning Show
-Pirates Dinner Adventure

I just checked my restaurant.com account I ahve 2 HOB that I bought in 2010 which I am going to print out now as we are going over next week....can you use more than one? what about if you split checks?

read the fine print - answer is no. So I just print out the full page and take it with me??

Yes, take it with you and show it to the waiter/waitress when you are ordering. They will take it from you when you go to pay the bill. In the Disney/Universal area we've used certs at Giordanos, BB Kings, O'Charleys, Cricketer's Arms and probably a few others I can't remember off the top of my head.

how was Giordano's? We are spending a couple days in the Universal area in May and was wondering if we should try Giordanos. Would love to get a restaurant.com certificate for 80% off but only if the restaurant is worth going to!

I used one at Kimono's last month. My parents used one at HOB.

I just bought a few today for our June trip!
House of Blues
Giordano's
II Mulino (Swan/Dolphin)
Garden Grove (Swan/Dolphin)
Shula's (Swan/Dolphin)

We will be staying our first 5 nights at BWV, so the Swan/Dolphin places will be convenient. We'll have our car, so going to Giordano's is doable too. Unfortunately, they were out of the $25 Giordano's GCs so I only got a $10 one. Got $25 for the others. Spent $9. :thumbsup2

The pizzas are massive so you'd better bring your appetite. The cert is for dine in only but what we did was order the Supreme pizza for $27 and a sandwich + drink to get it over the $35 minimum for a $25 certificate. My wife ate the sandwich while they were making the pizza (which takes quite a while to make) and when the pizza showed up we asked for it to be boxed up and took it back to our condo. It took me 3 days to eat it

We also used one at HOB last week - they even allowed us to get drinks with Souvenir glasses - We had $50 off of $100

thanks! I think they are out of the $25 certificates so hopefully Ill get one next time they go to 80% off.

I love that site. We use it all the time for our area every time they offer 80% off. I picked up 3 certificates for our trip this March for the Orlando area. It is a great way to save money and try out new restaurants.

We get one for the HOB everytime we go. We liked the Garden Grove and IlMulinos but they were more expensive than what we usually pay to eat. However, if you pay those prices for meals, I would recommend both of them. We went to the Garden Grove on Southern BBQ night and the food was very very good. The desserts were fabulous!!!! We like Giordanos but would have trouble with ordering the amount we would need to for the coupon. If I had some teenagers with me, we would use that one.

Used one at HOB a week ago - worked fine!

Glad I found this thread! I asked these questions elsewhere & have not received an answer yet, so hopefully you all can help me.

Here are my questions:

They have a House of Blues $25GC for $10 with "Minimum purchase of $35. 18% Gratuity added prior to discount. Cannot be use for Gospel Brunch, on Holidays or Special Events."

Can this be used for drinks & munchies at the bar or drinks alone w/o food?

Also, why shouldn't I just purchase a restaurant.com Gift Card instead of a certificate for a specific restaurant?

If I purchase a $25 certificate for House of Blues it would cost me $10 & I would need to spend $35 so if I ate/drank $35 worth it would end up costing me $20 plus 18% tip. If I purchased a $25 GC it would cost $15, no manditory 18% tip that I can see & House of Blues in DTD is participating. Am I missing anything here?

Lastly, how long are these good for? If I purchase now will they still be good in August?

Thanks!

Not certain. We had a small food order, so our drinks put us over the $35 minimum mark. I would guess that if a certificate doesn't specifically exclude drinks, then drinks should be O.K. One caveat - they could change that and it would be their right, so just ask before you purchase anything. They will tell you upfront if you can use it that way.

Here's a link to their FAQ's page http://www.restaurant.com/help.asp#17 Check it out - they answer a lot of questions there.

The Restaurant.com GC is a GC to Restaurant.com, not the restaurants that they feature. So you would have to redeem your Restaurant.con GC for a GC to a specific restaurant.

Nope, no expiration, so yep, still good in August.

One last thing. Restaurant.com issues promo codes fairly often and that $25 GC to HOB only ends up costing you $2!! Just be patient, if there isn't one now, they will likely issue one before August. Google "Restaurant.com promo code".

Good luck. :thumbsup2

Is there a certain code for 80%??? We are going to Orlando in May and would love to save a little money going out to eat!
