Have you used any of the coupons available at restaurant.com (recommended at mousesavers.com)? How did it work out--any problems using the coupon? What are the places you would recommend?

We've got two for our upcoming trip - Club Car, located at HIFS, and Baskervilles at the Grosvenor. Sure is a great way to save a few $ on the trip. I found the site and information here on the DIS. We haven't used these yet, but I've read several other posts that said all went well. If you don't get much response, use the search feature as there are other posts on this topic that answer your question directly.

I used one while staying at the HIFS, the dinner food is awful there. I would not waste your time, unless you have a few kids that will be eating free.

I currently have 20 or so restaurant.com gift certificates .........

I've never had one refused.... and only had a minor problem with one. We did speak to the restaurant owner, and although his restaurant no longer participates in the program- he was kind enough to accept the gift certificate.

We love them!!

I've purchased several restaurant.com gift certificates for friends. One certificate I had sent to a friend in California and for some odd reason, the restaurant did not accept it. There was another that I had sent to a friend in Kansas, then a week or so later after sending it to a friend, it was either restaurant.com or ebay had contacted me saying that I can no longer use the certificate so they gave me a refund, but it was embarrassing to tell my friend that she couldn't use it. When bidding on the certificate, look at the menu of the restaurant so you know the items they have along with the prices, and also the restrictions.

Have had no problems using the GC's in the Philadelphia area. Have given them as gifts also.
Just remember to read the exlusions/fine print on the gift certificate. Sometimes they say "party of 4 or more" etc.
They are a great way to try restaurants you might not normally have tried.

Just make sure to call the restaurant and double-check they still take them. I belong to a big coupon/savings board and there have been numerous discussions there where people have had them refused. In most cases the restaurant either was no longer participating and they were still selling them or they were selling more than the restaurant had asked them to. There were plenty of people with positive experiences too, but it's best do call.

I've used them here in Atlanta several times and used the HIFS one in January. We went to the seafood buffet and it was GREAT!

I would always check with the restaurant first, also. All of the places I used them at looked as if they've seen them thousands of times and had no problems processing them. I highly recommend them.

I have used them in Orlando and in Montana without problems. Montana is not used to discount coupons from their tourists. So, I consider that the true test. We used a coupon at a restaurant out in the middle of nowhere and they seemed to have no idea what the certificate was. But, once they called for verification, they took it cheerfully. Like I said, the true test! If they take them in Montana they will take them practically anywhere - haha!

We used the 50% off one at Baskervilles at the Grosvenor since we were stayiing there. WE did the Character breakfast and they took it with no problem. The total bill for me, DH and DS was only $13 and something! It was totally worth that. The food was fine, not gormet, but it was okay. The service was excellent, they had pluto come out with cake and a candle for my DS's birthday and had the whole restaurant sing to him. We had a great experience.
