I am going to disney in june and am hoping to get some help with choosing restaurants to eat at while there. here's a rundown of restaurants we are looking to eat at... we have the dinight package that is recomended on the website. ME and my parents are goin we are all over 21 so here ya go...

california grill, for wishes
boatwrights, we are staying at port orleans
Rose and crown, at epcot
capn' jack, at downtown disney
plaza, at magic kingdom

could we please get some feedback or reviews...tips would be ideal!!! thanks!!

what dining package is recommened on the website? and what website?

The Cali Grill is a top place for sure. The Plaza is OK as is the Rose & Crown. I would try Le Cellier, Chefs de France or the San Angel Inn myself

Not a fan of Boatwright myself. I thought the House of Blues was a better place for that kind of cuisine. I heard the breakfast there is good

Since you are at Port Orleans make sure you check out Yeehaw Bob

it was the plan that was recomended on the disney.com website...we booked through disney parks and went with it.

gotcha. There are several plans. Some like them some don't

Can I ask why you chose the Plaza at the Magic Kingdom? I think it's a little blah. Oh, it's Ok, but there are more "magical" choices if this is your first time. Is this your first time at WDW?

Wether the dining package is the right thing for you or not, really depends on what you are going to eat. The only way to find out is to actually think where you want to eat and what you will reallistically eat every day, then research the menus for prices (at alera.net or http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/disneydining.cfm) and do the math. Of course it makes more sense to get, if you are going to eat at more expensive restaurants. The Plaza at the MK for example is one of the cheaper sit down meals, so using a dining plan credit for this might not be so good.

I personally love to be more flexible, i.e. I sometimes rather get an appetizer than a dessert at table service restaurants and I sometimes just get a side order of fries for lunch or so. But others really love the dining plan.

With regard to your restaurant choices, I would say that most of them are not the ones that are commonly recommended. I don't mean to say that you should stay away from them, I am certain some people have great meals there :goodvibes

A few suggestions for places to look at are:

Kona Cafe at the Poly (only a short hop from the MK)

Spoodles at the Boardwalk (walking distance from Epcot and even DHS)

Raglan Road at DTD

Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Have fun planning! :goodvibes
