For our one large family gathering. We are hoping for a seating of 16 (probably two tables of 8) for one night during our visit in December. We are staying at the Poly, but want opinions on if we should try for a restaurant there? Or try one at the CR.

thoughts?

With kids, you may want to check out Ohana.

If you want a more adult experience, I'd try either The Wave or California Grill at the Contemporary.

I would say O'Hana, "a place of family, laughter and sharing ...Hawaiian style."

Its geared to big families and the food is great! :thumbsup2

we are leaning towards O'hana, but wanted to get some "expert" opinion.

thanks

The Ohana
This is sooooooooo good
'Ohana bread pudding a la mode with Bananas Foster Sauce
The first serving went POOOF in a few seconds.
But it's all you can eat.
Everyone loved it.

I'd suggest Ohana as well but if you have someone with nut allergies you need to be careful. Each table gets 3 different sauces, one of them being a Thai Peanut sauce. Another thing to watch out for is the noodle side dish as i'm pretty sure it has pieces of peanuts throughout it.

Another vote for Ohana....it's an awesome place ::yes::. You won't be disappointed ;).

I love Ohana also, but if you are looking for something a little more upscale and private, the wine room at the Cali Grill is a really nice setting for a family event.

If you have some kids in your group either Chef Mickey's or Ohana are excellent locations, so you can't go wrong with either one. If there are more adults then the California Grill would be an great choice.
