So just to recap its me Kelly my son Shawn ( 4 yearsold)or Shawno and my husband Chris. We arrive at the DTGS @ Downtown Disney on Monday after driving down from Mass ( in 18hrs) and spending 1 day at Daytona Beach
So we wake Monday have breakfast and go down stairs to wait for the bus we wanna be there ASAP so the 1st bus is at 8am there is no one else downstairs so im pretty happy but now its 825am tons more people are now downstairs and the bus still isnt here. Finally a bus shows up but its not for the MK so we keep waiting some people leave some dont. Finally after 830am the bus arrives it is packed and we have to stand the entire way to the ticket center. This was one of the only things that I was disappointed with at the DTGS ( doubletree guest suites in the park at Downtown Disney) The bus was so over crowded I kinda felt unsafe after a few of the turns and maybe I should not have gotten on. Apprently the bus stops at all 7 of the DTD resorts
We get to the TC and decide to take the boat over and well do the monorail later. The boat was great Chip and Dale were on it and we got some pictures and autographs. We had decided to do lots of Autograph seeking while there Shawno was very excited. We get there and the place is very busy we wait and get into the park and head over to Frontier land we go rides Shawno has some great encounters with characters and then we have lunch over in Tomorrowland at the plaza pavillion pretty good value for the money. We ride rides all day with highlights being Splash Mountain , several rides on Buzz and the tomorrowland transit ride. Also we get to meet ALICE my favorite I was kid again it was amazing !! Shawno is only 4 and i cant believe how much he loves everything and goes on all rides except space mt which he wasnt tall enough to do. we didnt estimate the right amount of time needed to get a good space for the Spectromagic parade and fireworks I kept telling Chris to stop and pick a spot but he just kept going on rides with Shawno. We couldnt get a spot anywhere so we fought our way down mainstreet and I wanted to leave, I couldnt enjoy it and tape it and we were coming back for a full day later in the week. The entire way outta the park Chris kept saying sorry and I wanted to kill him I was sooooo mad at him. Anyway we wented and waited for the bus which again was late and packed this was the last day we used the bus system. We drove everywhere else for the next 2 weeks within reason it was worth the money I didnt wanna miss things be late I hate being late and I didnt wanna have to take an hour every night to get back to dtd it was worth it to drive. On tuesday we just hung out by the pool and had lunch went to the mall had a great meal at Olive Garden. we woke up Wednesday and pretty much did the same as Tuesday. Thursday we went to the Animal Kingdon we got there early an had a great day the park was amazing and we loved it !! the parade was great and we really had a good time we went on every ride and only had a lite snack that day cuz we has PS for Chef Mickeys that night. We went back to the hotel for alittle while and then went over to Chef Mickeys we had to wait about 15 min we had our pictures taken and then Shawno got to literally DANCE with Donald alone for almost 10 min it was one of the most precious times we had. Shawno got autographs from everyone and we captured it all on tape. friday we went to Epcot this was our favorite park we loved it and especialy the WS. Shawno fell asleep and we were able to walk around the entire WS and have drinks , go shopping, really just enjoy alittle time together. Saturday we did a full day MK and then Sunday we just hung out. Over the next several days we split most of out time between Mk and Epot it never rained except for the last day there and it was a brief shower but great because it cleared out the WS. We loved out time there and we were able to do plenty of dinners and shows and rides. It was worth it for us to stay at DTGS cuz of the great rate of $89 a night from Mousasavers for a suite! We are now planning our next trip and plan on staying in the park this time. We were palnning to go in Dec but we are going to have to push that back since Im pregnant. Hope that everyone has a good time at WDW I know we did.!!!
