Disers -
We'll have the DDP, and I need some help with restaurants, especially table service. Our stay in this Nov and we're either going to be at BLT or BCV/BWV. Can you give me recs based on both locations, using the DDP and 2 toddlers? TIA!!!
Oh, Chef Mickeys is a definite for BLT location.
We can do breakfast, but might get more bang for our DDP buck with dinners. Buffets are great, but we want a little variety; maybe 3 buffets and 2 a la cartes?
PS - if you have any must do quick service recommendations, I'd love to hear those, too.

If you stay at BCV/BWV I would recommend Cape May Cafe for dinner. It is a buffet, but I found it was good when we went with our DS 4 and DS 2. They have some nice seafood, the buffet allows you to eat at your own pace and we liked that there was paper on the tables that the kids could draw on (I had my own crayons, can't remember if they had them)
If you stay by BLT I would recommend. O'Hana, Whispering Canyon (WL) or Artist Point- more upscale at WL. Don't know how the kids will do with Artist Point.
Also, we liked staying at the Beach Club with the kids. It was nice to go walk around Epcot after dinner. Have a snack and a nice drink. Also, Epcot has so many food picks. Both QS and TS. I hope this helps. Have fun!!:)

I would seriously consider whether Artist Point is the best choice for 2 yo twins. Can they sit quietly, for 90 - 120 minutes? There is nothing special to entertain them there. There are better choices for young families, if the children are "average" 2 yo :cool1:
If you are at BC the Biergarden in WS at Epcot might be fun. It is a German themed buffet. There is an "Oompah Band" that plays intermittantly and the children are invited to dance with the band on the dance floor. Lots of fun.
Have a Great Trip

For a non-buffet, non-character meal I would recommend Coral Reef in Epcot. My kids were always fascinated with the huge tank and all the fish.

With little ones, I found character meals/buffets worked best for us. Crystal Palace in MK is a family favorite.

we stayed at BLT last year and ate at the following places:
Chef Mickeys - Breakfast
Wave - Breakfast (didn't think it was worth the money liked contempo cafe just as well for breakfast)
Crystal Palace - breakfast (this got us in to the MK before park opened)
Kona cafe - dinner (just a monorail ride away from BLT)
La Hacienda in Epcot
Cinderella's Royal Table - Lunch

Also wanted to add that we loved staying at BLT with little ones. We walked back form the MK quite often. It only took about 10 min.

If you stay @ BCV/BWV:
- Cape May Clambake at the BC (great buffet w/ lots of variety)
- Biergarten in Germany in Epcot (another buffet w/ TONS of variety and great entertainment for you and the kids! :thumbsup2)
- Rose & Crown in Epcot (a la carte...get a later ressie and get your own private Illuminations-viewing spot! :cloud9: the food is great too by the way!)
- Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package @ DHS (this is a great use of the DDP, b/c you get an app, entree, drink & dessert for ONE credit, PLUS your seperate Fantasmic-viewing spot. The food is great as well. It's a nice leisurely walk or boat ride from the BCV/BWV, but I would recommend this even if you stay at BLT- we've even got one booked for August @ CSR!)
- Breakfast at Akershus in Norway (this is SUCH a great bang for your buck! The food is plentiful and WONDERFUL. The princesses are at this one, but it's definitely boy & girl friendly. Plus, if you get an 8 AM ressie, you can go into Epcot through International Gateway before it opens and enjoy an empty World Showcase! It's magical! :) The food is a la carte AND family-style.)

If you stay @ BLT:
- Chef Mickey's (of course :))
- Breakfast at Crystal Palace in MK (again, such a great bang for your buck! Arguably best breakfast on property, and that 8:05 AM ADR allows you to have an empty Magic Kingdom, which is wonderful. The food and service are fantastic, as is the variety. :))
- Ohana at the Polynesian (just 2 monorail stops away, and the food is to die for!!! a lot of fun for kids too :thumbsup2)
- Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge (SO much fun for the whole family, and the food is super yummy! :goodvibes)
- Kona Cafe at the Polynesian (again, so close, and arguably the best service on property. The food is excellent. :))

***Coral Reef in Epcot is a great option for a BCV/BWV stay as well. Your kids will love the fish tanks and you will love the food!*** :thumbsup2

Happy Planning! :cool1:

WOW!!! Great ideas. I really appreciate the advice! Keep it rolling...
Oh, BTW, I love the idea of getting into the parks early with a breakfast ADR.

We have a two year old daughter and by the time we go in September our 6 month old will be celebrating her first birthday, so we're in a similar boat. Last year we took our two year old to celebrate her first birthday and several restaurants were a big hit with her, so we will be going back to a few of them.

Biergarten - She LOVED the band here and actually the food can be pretty kid friendly. This was a lot of fun for the whole family. We will be back in September.

Garden Grill - The food was really good but best of all was the character interaction. We spent our daughter's first birthday meal here and it was the BEST choice for us. Mickey and Pluto were great and spent a lot of time at our table but really Chip and Dale made the meal. They were GREAT with our daughter and made the meal a lot of fun. Again this is something we're doing again in September and actually we'll be celebrating our other daughter's first birthday here.

'Ohana - Breakfast with Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch. The food is fantastic! And I'm NOT a breakfast person, so that's saying something! :rotfl: The characters were a lot of fun, but honestly there is something magical about starting your day looking at the castle while you enjoy your breakfast. Also they have a kids parade that goes around the restaurant. Lots of fun for the little ones. And it's not a buffet so the parents get a bit of a break from the buffet scene.

Coral Reef - IF you can get a table by the window. You might have a longer wait, but it's a nice treat for the kids if you are able to get close enough to the tank for them to enjoy the fish.

Whispering Canyon - Absolutely NO worries about your kids being too loud here. :thumbsup2 The restaurant is a lot of fun and definitely kid friendly. With the pony races and the ketchup gag, this restaurant can be super fun for kids. And we really like the food, too.

Chef Mickey's - Okay, this one is obvious. :) We'll be trying Chef Mickey's for breakfast this year. But we are normally dinner visitors. And honestly in all the years we've gone here we've never had a bad meal. I always get a little confused when I hear that the food isn't as good, but we've always had a good experience. And we've also had good experience with the servers here as well. And the characters are always fun.

Crystal Palace - While we have been for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We really prefer breakfast here. Pooh and friends are a lot of fun and the food is good, but like I said we prefer breakfast to the other meals here.

We will be trying Sanaa this year for an early dinner and we are hoping to request a table by the window since I've heard that you can see the animals from the tables. We will also be trying Cinderella's Royal Table this year as well. Our oldest daughter LOVES princesses and we're not too keen on going back to Akershus after two really bad visits. Maybe we will try it again in a few years. If we can fit it in we will probably be heading back to 1900 Park Fare. If you go for breakfast you get to see Pooh, Tigger, Mary Poppins, Alice and the Mad Hatter. Dinner is Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, Anastasia and Drizella. Still not sure if we want to go for breakfast or dinner, but breakfast was really good last year. Another restaurant we enjoyed was Cape May, it's a buffet so everyone was able to get what they wanted but our daughter (and my husband) really liked being able to color on the table as well. :lmao: Eventhough we didn't have any characters for dinner, this was a really enjoyable buffet.

Hope this helps a little! :goodvibes

Thanks for all the suggestions! we will be there in sept with a 2 yo and i think i have every restaurant mentioned on my list :thumbsup2

Just saw that you are looking for CS suggestions, too.

MK -

Cosmic Ray's has a good selection of different kids of foods from hamburgers, sandwiches to ribs and chicken. Plus if you can get into the main room there is entertainment in the form of a alien named Sonny Eclipse. He is a lounge singer and can be entertaining for kids (and big kids) while they eat.

Pinocchio's Village Haus is another good option in my opinion. If you get a table close to the windows you can see guests board it's a small world. Which can be fun for the kids.

Epcot -

Sunshine Seasons is our favorite due to the selection and freshness of the food. Lots of choices to be had here. Their desserts are super yummy, too. I love their Tofu Noodle bowl (I'm a vegetarian) while my son loves their salmon and husband loves the pork chops. Great CS!

AK -

Flame Tree BBQ is EXCELLENT, but it is outdoor seating and the birds can get bad here. Not good if you (or your little ones) are scared of birds. I am really terrified of birds so lunch was not enjoyable, but the food is tasty. If your kids like birds on the other hand, this would be a fun option for them.

Pizzafari also has themed rooms and can be fun. Pizza and sandwiches are what is served here. Restaurantosaurus used to be good and I really like the dig site theme, but the last time we went here the food wasn't good at all. But they do have a good toppings bar for hamburgers or veggie burgers in my case.

DHS -

Can't be of any help here.. Sorry!

Resorts:
Poly -

Captain Cook's is a great CS. Tonga Toast is available for breakfast, but it isn't as good as what is offered at Kona. Still good, though! And the setting is just beautiful. You can take your food outside if you want to enjoy the resort. Also you can get Dole Whip! Yum!

AKL -

The Mara is another good CS. Love the animal murals on the wall and they do have televisions to occupy the kids if need be. We really like the food here as well. And it is another place to get Zebra Domes!

We've taken DD at 20 months, almost 2, 2.5 and now we'll be going just before she's 3. Some of our favorites:

Hollywood and Vine breakfast: This is an all-time highlight. The food is fine-good, but if your kids are at all into Playhouse Disney (or now Disney Jr., I guess), it is just a fantastic experience. Special Agent Oso, Handy Manny and Leo and June from Little Einsteins make appearances and dance with the kids. It was an awesome time.

Garden Grill: The character interaction is great here too and the food is good and a little healthier than most places. It's nice to actually have vegetables!

Ohana: A lot for the little ones to see here, and there are so many food choices that DD ate great.

Via Napoli: DD scarfed down the pizza, and we really enjoyed it too. It's pretty loud in there, so I didn't feel like I had to worry too much about keeping her still and quiet the whole time.

Breakfast at the Crystal Palace was really nice too. And we enjoyed Chefs de France lunch.

I am not a huge buffet fan, but we have done lots of family-style meals and breakfast buffets with DD, and it's so nice because we don't have to order anything extra for her and she eats free.

As for CS meals, we really love Cosmic Rays at MK and Flame Tree BBQ at AK. At Cosmic Ray's, I usually get the chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans and there is plenty to share with a 2-year-old. At Flame Tree she can share the ribs. I also love Sunshine Seasons because we can get her vegetables there too. DD eats her veggies really well, but we have had a hard time finding them for her at lots of places.

Thanks for posting. We will also be visiting with twin 2 yr olds.

Can anyone say if they think 50s Prime Time would be an okay choice?
