They're all awful

I'm with you on preggers & raise you a preggo, especially we're preggers/preggo. As far as I'm concerned, my DH doesn't get any credit for the 42 weeks I suffered through morning sickness, weight gain, heartburn, constantly needing to pee, not being able to sleep due to back pain, etc. I was pregnant. He didn't carry a baby. Really, I try to ignore it, but why? Why not say I'm pregnant? I just don't get it. Have we as a society gotten too lazy to type or pronounce a complete word?

I loathe the term "wifey".

Ressie doesn't bother me, although I don't ever use it.

My Coworker calls his wife "the wife" when she isn't around. Never refers to her by name.

"Brekkie" is nails on a chalkboard to me.

"Littles" makes me want to poke my eyes out.

I was thinking "littles" too. I've never seen it anywhere but here.

I've been guilty of using the term littles in the past, but the context was completely different and, no, I don't care to explain.

To be fair, preggo and preggers aren't exactly new terms, so I don't think they are any sort of commentary on the laziness of modern society. I found one source that dates these terms back to the 1940s and 50s, so they've likely been annoying people for decades.

I am guilty of calling my daughters boyfriend 'the boy'. Not to his face, obviously, and not to her, but when referring to him to someone else. Not sure how it started but its stuck lol

I totally agree with that. The man can be expecting a child. But the man is never pregnant. I never got that.

This is way worse, but pretty much all of my family except my cousin called her now exhusband "the slug" when they weren't around. we just got a bad vibe, but she was a young independent woman wanting to do her own thing. Then after they were married she was talking about random stuff being stolen from the back yard (leaf blower, extension cords, etc) she rigged up a camera and caught him taking stuff and trading it for drugs.

I always liked the term "kiddo".

I agree that boyfriend and girlfriend might be a bit odd when people are older but what should they say instead? Lady friend, significant other, main squeeze, my woman? I really dislike a few of these and I haven't even thought about what the guy should be called.
